Some variety of Option 2 is best, but for Option 1, it would be easy to implement a control in the All Files view:
    - Hide items shared with me
    - Show only items shared with me
    - Show everything

This seems like it would be better solved with a search improvement to Box Drive. If not, let us know in the comments.

Add an "Open in Box Drive" UI option for the web app.
This solves the problem of identifying a file or folder in the web app, wanting to work on the file or folder in Box Drive, and needing to leave the Web App to navigate through several steps to find that file in Box Drive.

Ideally this should only be active on hosts that have Box Drive installed; it could be not presented, or disabled, on other hosts.

For hosts that have Box Drive installed, this would allow:
    1. When activated for a folder, that folder as presented by Box Drive will open in the native desktop file explorer (Explorer or Finder).
    2. When activated for a file or file preview, that file will open in the native desktop app, loaded through Box Drive. Identifying the application to load the file would be done using the desktop OS's file association mechanism.

This would complement the existing Box Drive "View on Box.com" functionality.

We need this ability as well. We want our API-driven automations to set up folders that (1) only allow collaborations to be set by Owners and Co-Owners, and (2) restrict shared link scope to Collaborators. Adding this would give us much greater flexibility at guiding user actions to meet business needs.

    https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360049153234-Restrict-Shared-Link-Access-for-Folder-Programmatically-

This would be such a powerful addition for anyone using API-driven automations; it would allow much greater central control of particular folder structures. I'm surprised to find that this is a limitation.

While I have not encountered long delays, upload-by-email is an important differentiator that sets Box apart from its competitors. This function should be robustly supported.

We don’t plan to implement this exception in Box Tools. However, we’re working on a related solution: the ability to open files in Finder/Explorer via Box Drive, where you can then choose to open them with a different app. Stay tuned for updates.

We'd really like to see CSV and XLS associated with Excel.
Today, if a Web App user previews an XLSX file, it's easy to open that file in Excel (using Box Tools) or Excel Online (using our Office Online / Microsoft 365 integration).

It's impossible to open CSV or XLS directly in Excel using the same mechanisms. As the original poster indicates, the file may open in Notepad on Windows, but never opens in Excel. No option presents to open in Excel Online.

This violates user expectations. In particular, this works as expected in OneDrive/Microsoft 365. It reads as "broken" for our users and Box gets the blame.

Box is shooting themselves in the foot if they're not offering this feature. Collections are great, but the impact would be so much greater if they could be shared.

We've already had one customer organization who was eagerly investigating Box because of Collections decide not to use Box when they ran into this limitation.

If permissions complications are the sticking point, please engage with your customers on ideas to overcome that. We'd be happy to help.

Private vs shared collections should be visibly distinct, of course.

It is not currently prioritized in the near future. However, we are putting systems in place so that we can enable the dark mode in the future.

File Request is a great feature. We don't turn it on because we can't report on where it's being used. Please give us a report like this, or incorporate something into our Shared Link report so we can find and distinguish file request links in that report.

This is a great suggestion, and I can definitely see the usefulness of such a feature. Based on current priorities, I don’t foresee us being able to implement this feature in the short-term.

This could be implemented with a variety of different scopes: an entire enterprise; a selected part of an enterprise (e.g. "All public links that meet certain criteria"); or scoped to an individual user account or users in a group. More flexibility is better.
