Add ability for users to open a folder in Box Drive from the Web App
Add some kind of "open in Box Drive" option for a folder. Clicking this would cause Box Drive to open the appropriate folder locally.
This seems like it would be better solved with a search improvement to Box Drive. If not, let us know in the comments.

Glad to see this has already been submitted. This is a killer feature for e.g. contracting teams 3000 folders deep that need to quickly find a folder on their local system after being handed a Box web link. I consider this functionality to be critical givent he nature of our business. Pretty please!

Here's the daily usage pattern that brings me here:
Box Drive user 1: "Where's that file?"
Box Drive user 2: Sends shared Link.
Box Drive user 1: Click. Loads web browser. Checks file path from browser. Begins to navigate locally through Box Drive/Finder/Explorer. Forgets full path, goes back to double-check path in the browser. Continues Navigation in Box Drive. Finds file. The ability to open a folder or Shared Link locally would save time and cycles.

Ability to click a link that opens the current web box folder on the local Box Drive. This would allow for quick local file editing when you navigated to the folder via web Box.

Add an "Open in Box Drive" UI option for the web app.
This solves the problem of identifying a file or folder in the web app, wanting to work on the file or folder in Box Drive, and needing to leave the Web App to navigate through several steps to find that file in Box Drive.Ideally this should only be active on hosts that have Box Drive installed; it could be not presented, or disabled, on other hosts.
For hosts that have Box Drive installed, this would allow:
1. When activated for a folder, that folder as presented by Box Drive will open in the native desktop file explorer (Explorer or Finder).
2. When activated for a file or file preview, that file will open in the native desktop app, loaded through Box Drive. Identifying the application to load the file would be done using the desktop OS's file association mechanism. This would complement the existing Box Drive "View on Box.com" functionality.

"Search improvemnent" would not help. This is an immediate frustration for my whole team that started with Box recently. Since we can't link to a network file, we would like to easily grab that link and have it open the file in the appropriate application (e.g., Word or Excel).

I disagree that this should be on the "no planned" list on the grounds of improving search in Box drive. The ability to open a folder locally in Drive from the Web App would allow us to take advantage of the full features of both access methods - i.e viewing version and audit history in the web app and then opening file explorer to enjoy more traditional file features like copying/pasting and familiar navigation.

This looks very similar if not identical to the idea post in this suggestion: 36113086. To avoid getting marked as a spammer, I'm voting and making my comment here.
I would add another use case for this that better search would not address. When trying to collaborate between people, a user, get's a shared link via Box drive and then emails this link to their coworker.
If the coworker, clicks on the link, their computer will open the link in Box's Web App. Adding a "Open in Box Drive" widget in the webapp would aid the coworker in getting back to the Box Drive folder they may intend on working from anyway.
Within a company this could also minimize the disruption caused by various permissions levels that would make the folder path different per person.
