Permanent Folder Tree View in Webapp (Similar to Windows Explorer/Finder)
Currently we have a 'jump to folder' option that provides a modal for navigating by using a folder tree view. Many customers would like this same tree view of their content as a permanent sidebar in the webapp for faster/easier 1) navigation and 2) context for where they're at in any given folder tree.

Email Notification Frequency Options - Immediate, Daily Digest, Weekly, etc.
Box currently provides email notifications as options for end users to 'subscribe' to email notification alerts when content is uploaded, downloaded, previewed, deleted, or commented on. Box currently only provides one 'type' of email notification: instant (which includes automatic batching when events occur within a few minutes of each other).
REQUEST: Add the ability for users to choose the 'type' of email notification they'd like to enable at the folder level (via Folder Settings):
--Real-time emails (what we already have today)
--Daily digest (1 email per day)
--Additional weekly option (optional)30 votesThank you for the feedback, this is something we would like to do in the future, but don’t currently have a timeline planned for this.

Notification about Update of File
If you share a link to a file or folder, is there a way for recipients on that file to be notified that the file has been updated or in the case of a folder that another file has been added?
For example, when they receive the link, could there be a message that says, if you'd like to get updated about this file/folder enter your e-mail. Then Box has a way of sending them the updates.

Ability to 'Hide' Folders I've Been Added To
As a user, I've likely been added to numerous folders that I do not need to access daily or even often, but still need to remain a collaborator in. A 'hide folder' option may help with this, where a user would be able to hide a folder form their All Files view, but the user would not actually be removed as a collaborator from the folder. They would then be able to access all 'hidden' folders via a menu option on the left rail (or elsewhere).
29 votesFolder sprawl is an interesting challenge many of us face! To combat this, we’re recommending that users use the upcoming ‘Collections’ feature to group together content that’s frequently used vs. hiding content that’s infrequently used.

Ability to show Full path from root to collaborated folder
If i have a folder in the following structure
/1/2/3
and I invited User B to Folder 3
When User B access Folder 3 he would have no idea that folder 3 is actually in the path /1/2/3.On Box platform however, there is an optional parameter "canviewpath",
while this can only be used by the folder owner it adds to ability to let collaborator see the folder from root to target folder.28 votesThanks for the feedback. This is not currently planned on our roadmap, but please do keep contributing use cases for evaluation in a future cycle.

Increase size of left-side menu on Home screen
The left-side menu on the Home screen is too narrow and cuts off the names of folders/files saved under My Collections/Favorites.
Users should be able to set whatever width is needed for the menu.
27 votesWe are making the overall Box Web App responsive so that users can get the information they need to engage with content effectively instead of improving the UX of each component piecemeal.

Allow user to rotate PDFs by 90 degree increments in Preview
There are occasions where PDFs are not oriented properly in Preview or user needs to rotate the view to make reviewing easier (i.e.. maps, designs etc.)

Major/minor flagging or differentiation in their version history.
It is important to be able to manage milestone updates to a single document that can be referred back to, both major and minor.
Some of this has been compounded by the additional versions created by autosave when using MS Office concurrent editing.

remove the character limit on invite messages. the message portion is vital my account and sending specific instructions on folder use
remove the character limit on invite messages. the message portion is vital my account and we need to sending specific instructions on folder use and access. this is best when included with the link to the folder as sent by box. ALSO there is nowhere on the site or in the share section that even states there is now a character limit, instead it's just kicking back the invite and preventing it from being sent.

Allow folder owner to report on collaborators in their folders
We would like the ability to have a folder owner search for a specific collaborator to see all the folders (that is owned by the folder owner) that they are collaborating on

HTML should be rendered in Preview mode again
HTML files appear to no longer be rendering the HTML. Instead, they are just showing me the content of the HTML code.

Add "Dimensions" info under "File properties"
To be able to see the dimensions of an image is an extremely valuable feature for designers to review and "QC" all of the marketing assets without having to download all the files.
25 votesThank you for the suggestion. While we definitely understand the value of displaying dimensions for image files, this functionality is not currently planned on our near term roadmap. Please continue to add comments and suggestions here to help us prioritize in the future.

Locking Folder Names
We have systems integrating with folders on Box.com. These functions either provide workflow timestamps, or move files from folder to folder. In order for these integrations to work seamlessly, folders cannot be accidentally or purposely renamed.

Support Drag & Drop from Box Web App to Outlook
Please enable the ability to drag and drop files FROM Box Web App TO Outlook email client (including the option to insert them as links OR to add them as normal attachments). Currently there is no native Drag and Drop functionality available between the Box Web App and Outlook. Therefore, the process to add file attachments/links to emails via the Web App or Outlook Plug-In is actually currently LESS efficient with BOX than without it. Since BOX Drive is not available for virtual clients (such as Terminal Server or Citrix), their only option is to use the Web App or…

Shared Folder Page: Add the Ability to Search
The shared folder page does not currently have the ability to search, meaning users must manually navigate through (potentially) pages of folders to find the relevant file.
REQUEST: Add the ability to perform searches when viewing a Shared Folder page as a non-collaborator.
For example, if a customer is using open shared links as a way to host a 'Brand/PR Assets' library with subfolders for logos, imagery, etc., the users are unable to quickly locate the file they need amongst the subfolders. Search would help with this.
23 votesThis is a great suggestion, and I can definitely see the usefulness of such a feature. Based on current priorities, I don’t foresee us being able to implement this feature in the short-term.
