    Box Drive doesn’t currently provide a built-in “read-only open” option. Instead, whether a file opens in read-only mode depends on the application (Excel, Word, etc.) and the operating system.

    Here are a few possible workarounds:

    • Download a local copy and open it outside of Box Drive.
    • Use Box Preview in the web app, which always opens in read-only mode.
    • Adjust application settings (e.g., in Excel you can configure certain files to always open as read-only).

    The color of the custom brand banner is not displayed, but the "logo" uses the "logo used in the brand color", so the company's logo is not displayed.
