Allow different logons for Google and Box in the GSuite Integration.7 votes
Hi, currently in order to find a box user id for ONE user, we need to use
to get ALL users and then filter for the specific user.
If would be nice if we can simply query a user's box user id by the username.1 vote
There is an optional parameter called `filter_term` which can be used to retrieve a user on the basis of the name or login. See link below and a snippet from the dev docs.
Limits the results to only users who’s name or login start with the search term.
For externally managed users, the search term needs to completely match the in order to find the user, and it will only return one user at a time.
Alternatively, get added to the citrix virtual computer to your account.3 votes
Box Sync has support for persistent VDI environments only. See here for more information: https://community.box.com/t5/How-to-Guides-for-Account/Using-Box-In-Virtual-Environments/ta-p/1254
Create an API endpoint that returns information from status.box.com, so that customers can access this information programmatically.5 votes
It is possible to automate the process of listening for changes at status.box.com including for the API component. See https://support.atlassian.com/statuspage/docs/enable-webhook-notifications/
Our organization utilizes the collaboration with external users to give them access to view one specific folder relative to their client account. We do not want these users to have access to our main folder that houses the original documents for their client account, but rather only this one specific folder that has a copy of selected documents relative to their positions on the Board. Right now, we have to manually upload or delete new documents to both folders. If there is a change to our original document, we have to manually upload the new version to the copy folder for the Board to be able to view it. This requires extra unnecessary work. We would love to have the ability to either mirror entire sub folders or documents into another location that would automatically update with any changes.

Hello, if we understand your request correctly, you could use the bookmark feature to bookmark a link to specific files so the Board will always be routed to the up-to-date version of the original document but not be able to view the rest of the items in the main folder.
Allow users to invite collaborators from Box Drive, rather than only being able to do this from the website.5 votes
Users have the ability today in Box Drive to ‘Manage Collaborators’ via the right click menu of a file. When selected, this will cross-launch to the manage collaborator page on the Box.com web application.
We have 15000 users and trying to manage manual updates for Drive is tedious and often painful.17 votes
Box Drive will silently update without user interaction if an update is available when the user launches Box Drive (such as after they reboot their machine)
Scenario: Employees have improperly stored data in box.com by marking data as public that should not have been labeled in such a manner. The data is sufficiently sensitive that the company would like to quantify and evaluate what has been labeled in such a way to make the data public.8 votes
It sounds like what is being asked for here is a content report that includes history for when content was marked public. This information can be found by running a User Activity report for Collaboration and Shared Links type events: https://community.box.com/t5/How-to-Guides-for-Admins/Running-Reports/ta-p/26790#useractivity.
Allow users to add watermarks to files as part of a Relay process.2 votes
Admins would like to have the ability to force a log out from all devices and sessions. This could be for:
- User termination
- User's SSO credentials compromised (attacker could grant access to a third party app, which keeps a session alive even if sso credentials are reset)
On an API perspective, there could be an endpoint which destroys all tokens for a user, and it would require "manage users" from an admin perspective.8 votes
This possible today by logging in as user and blowing away all sessions.

It would be really nice if there was a good clean copy of the authentication methods script. The pieces and parts don't work and it is hard to figure out why. Example... Trying to authenticate with OAuth2 you can't get it to work with the examples and then jumping over to upload files doesn't jive. Aside from the Dev Token method, I can't get anything to work. HOW DO I AUTHENTICATE WITH OAUTH2?1 vote
The new documentation site has substanitally expanded and clarified information and examples pertaining to Authentication in the SDKs. Please see https://developer.box.com/guides/authentication/select/
Enable an ‘and/or’ feature for Automations that allows task to be approved by one assignee in order to move forward in the workflow3 votes
We actually already have a ‘Show Folder Tree’ feature in the Web App – you can access it by simply clicking ‘Show Folder tree’ when on the All Files page in your account. Here’s a screenshot of what that feature looks like: https://cloud.box.com/s/zihrv07iv7mei41a0uf8ew5fnc9dlu9n
Hope that helps!

We would like the ability to remove the option for opening documents in Office Online (ex: Microsoft Excel Online: Open this file in your browser). We are not O365 customers and people are often confused since the option to open in the native desktop Office app looks practically the same.1 vote
Please request your admin to disable through Box admin console. Link to instructions below
Certain communications do not need to go to Automations creators. Rather, they are truly meant for co-admins. Additional granularity would help reduce noise.2 votes

We have a workflow that could be over 25 steps in total. These steps are separated, in their original design, into phases such as Preparation > Briefing > Development > Sign-off > Release. Currently, it's impossible for users to see which stage they are in or which stages have been completed, as they are not defined. A user would have to know the number of steps in each phase to understand this currently. Phasing is a basic feature included in most workflow systems.2 votes
