  1. Singapore Zones

We would like to have Singapore Zones as a main storage country.
Currently you can select Singapore as a back up of Japan but not as a main country.
We would need this to implement Box to South East Asian countries.

  2. Visual confirmation in webapp for which Zone content is stored in

Some customers require end user and audit confirmation that specific content is stored in a specific Zone. This can easily be confirmed if this content has some type of in-app designation (maybe another piece of information in the 'Details' tab of the webapp) that confirms which Zone a folder/file is stored in. Since this tab is already displaying file/folder info, this should be able to be included with the same API call the webapp makes to Box.

  3. Saudi Arabia data

Add Saudi Arabia/MiddleEast to our Zones/Data Residency locations due to the new legislation passed and effective from September 14, 2023, with a compliance grace period until September 14, 2024. This legislation presents both opportunities and challenges for businesses operating within its borders. Non-compliance carries significant risks, including hefty fines of up to $1.3 million and potential imprisonment, emphasizing the critical need for corporate leaders to navigate these regulations adeptly.
For multinational companies, comprehending Saudi Arabia’s data governance framework is not just about compliance—it’s about compliantly operating in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. https://incountry.com/blog/saudi-arabia-data-sovereignty-policies-and-requirements/

  4. SCIM Provisioning for Box Zones

We'd like to provision Box Zones with SCIM provisioning instead of SAML Attribute. We use SCIM for all other provisioning. Not sure why we can't use it for a data residency Zone.

  5. Request for Early Improvement of Upload Speed for Large Files in BoxZones Environment (excluding the United States).

While improvements have been made in the past regarding upload speed in the NonZones environment, these improvements have not yet been implemented in the Zones environment.

There is no significant difference for small to medium-sized files, but there is a noticeable difference for large files of 1GB or more, with a roughly threefold gap observed in multiple upload speed measurements.

As employees regularly upload large-sized drawings, photos, videos, and other data in their daily tasks, this disparity leads to missed opportunities and decreased productivity.

Particularly, when transitioning from the NonZones environment to the Zones environment, it results in a deteriorated user…

  6. provide option to not automatically accept collaboration invitations when being invited from a user group

I do not have option to not accept the collaboration invitation when content is shared with a user group that I belong to. Is there a way to have the option to not accept the invitation when invited by a user group that I am part of it.

  7. As an admin, I should be able to designate a folders zone (not restricted by the user).

In a closed environment where you have a single user designated as the owner, you are currently unable to utilize multiline tenancy. In an instance where UK HR Files need to have a zone of UK and US HR Files need to be in the US zone, I would need to create a separate service account to own each set of files.

Ideally you would be able to designate anything containing PII/PIA/IP to a root folder with a designated zone based on data storage compliance. Allowing multiple users to access without worrying about the need for unnecessary service accounts which…

  9. Microsoft Office 365 Germany cannot connect with Box .

Office 365 Germany is a european office product for customers who wish to store their data in europe only. When I want to connect that service to Box, I get an error message.

I have contacted Microsoft on how to connect Office 365 Germany with Box. They supplied me with a website where they explain which endpoints Office 365 Germany uses. If Box uses the same endpoints, we could connect the two services.

  10. Add configuration to specify a folders data center

Add the ability to allow files to be stored across multiple data centers. We have multiple offices around the world being able to locate the files closer to where they are needed will address our performance & availability concerns.

This should be configurable by folder and inherited to the sub folders.
