As we work to build out a more robust compliance framework, this is absolutely something we’ll be considering. However, it is not on the near-term roadmap.

We understand the request, but unfortunately this is not on the near-term roadmap.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI agree completely. We came from a regular Windows server environment where I could allow or deny access to files and folders at any point in the structure. That is what we need and what works best.
A current example of how the waterfall permission structure is hurting is with the new Box Drive custom location. If I add someone as a collaborator on a file down in the file structure where they have no access to the parent tree & folders, I cannot hyperlink in Outlook to files through Box Drive and have it work. I am still forced to use the URLs to bypass the waterfall structure and the work-arounds that had to be done to get permissions correct. Hyperlinks work perfect only for files/folders where all parties have the exact same file structure, i.e. permission for the entire file structure chain.

This is a feature we would love to get to, but unfortunately it is not on our short term roadmap. Please continue adding your feedback!

This feature was delivered for Windows in Box Drive v2.25!
Users can now quickly preview of files in Explorer and Box Drive search without having to open these files. This feature is under consideration for macOS devices.

A true silent update is not currently planned. We have made some improvements to Box Drives update behavior by including silent updates when Box Drive is launching, if an update is already available. This improvement is in v2.3 for Mac and v2.3 for Windows.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThe new functionality to sync folders locally through Box Drive is a start but we really need the ability to sync individual files.
Users can do this, to a degree already. From your profile drop-down, select "Account Settings". On the "Account" tab, in the "General Options" section, you'll see a "Files and Folders Per Page" where you can customize it up to 100. This has really helped our struggles with Pagination.
