    This feature is not currently planned, but it is a second-priority item for our team. A related feature—the ability to open a file in Box Drive from the web app—is on our roadmap and will be an initial step toward supporting this request.     Thank you for the suggestion. Box currently offers the ability to lock folders using the folder lock API - https://developer.box.com/reference/post-folder-locks/

    We do not have a feature on our roadmap to expose this functionality from Box Drive. We will place this in our backlog as we continue evaluating ideas to improve Box Drive.

    Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

    I agree with Edwards point, the reciprocal function would be a powerful improvement. External users might send a link to a file that they have updated from Box Web, but we would want to work in Box Drive internally.

    Specifically the ability to have one button in Drive that can clear a user's cache is something we're actively considering.
