Syncing bookmarks and Windows shortcuts between Box Drive and online.
To better organize my personal Box files and share with teams, I've saved my files in the team folder and used a Windows shortcut (in Box Drive) in my personal Box folder to link files/folders elsewhere on Box. Box Drive doesn't sync Window's shortcuts so these links are lost when working online. The workaround online is to use the bookmark function, using file/folder URLs to create shortcuts. It would be great if bookmarks or window's shortcuts synced between online and Box Drive modes. At the moment I'm having to bookmark online and shortcut on Drive to link up files and folders. This is double the work and if I delete my Cache, the short cuts on Box Drive will be lost. Is there a better approach or solution to this problem?

We will likely consider bookmark support in the future for Box Drive, but it’s not planned in the near-term.

I cant believe this feature isn't available, especially for a cloud platform that is so widely used by teams. Please add this ASAP!

I can't believe Box would allow Microsoft SharePoint to out-do them on this feature. Time to get this improvement on the books and moving along.

I seriously hope Box reconsiders this idea and implements it. It's a real shame it is not being considered. The usefulness of shortcuts and their time savings would be substantial.

This is a basic feature. How long will you ignore this, Box?

Has this never been dealt with? This is extremely necessary!
How is it that when I tried box, I had the bookmarks in my windows explorer? Does the admin box account have the ability to see it in windows explorer, while no other user does? So frustrating! -

Please add this very standard feature. The response from nearly 4 years ago isn't satisfying at all.

This would be very helpful for our multi-language team. Where one person would work with files a folder in one language and another user would search for the same files in folder named in a different language.
It would eliminate the error of duplicated work. -

Definitely need shortcuts a la Google Drive. We use these often. Thanks.

I would also find shortcuts a useful feature.

Pretty sad this isn't a standard feature

Shortcuts (the way it is done on Google Drive) are critical to document control and collaboration. I hope you will prioritize this feature in your product development.

Hope to see shortcut feature implemented soon.
It would be very helpful to organize and share the files with my team. -

Hi there, we were trying to implement Box with our IT structure. We looked down directly at this feature first, because it seems like the only valid way to start using Box step by step. Please reconsider this feature and make it happen.

Hi France and Dear @rmashintchian, Thank you for pointing out this feature idea section from the support forum. This would give Box extra superpowers and will result in a massive impact. It is very simple. By allowing this our organization will start to use Box systems more in-depth and start to collaborate with our clients better. As you know we can't migrate completely from Drive to Box. But we want to start using Box to enhance our workflows and make it easier for both our teams and clients. Just start a beta program for trying this, and allow shortcuts. This will naturally integrate our Drive for Desktop setups as a touchpoint that we are considering building with some of our external parties.

What planet are we on that box "carefully considers" a "feature" that has been in existence since MS-DOS but ultimately decides that "the time isn't right" for such an earth-shattering suggestion?
Someone who sells storage per Gb, for example, such that duplicated files earn twice as much money?

I agree this is tremendously disappointing they aren't planning on implementing shortcuts. Even if they don't sync with Windows' or Mac's shortcuts, a shortcuts feature would be tremendously helpful. I used it all the time in google drive. I am at a new organization that uses both systems and may one day switch to only one, if they ask for employee feedback I will suggest they switch to google drive if Box continues to lack this very basic feature.

It's really disappointing to see that this user recommendation is "not planned" by Box. Having shortcuts is critical to any file system. How does Box not have built-in shortcut functionality? The bookmarks are not a good substitute--they're awkward to add, and don't carry over to the desktop Box Drive. And the fact that Box doesn't allow the Box Drive desktop shortcuts to sync with other users renders them useless for organizing files across a team. Please prioritize and add shortcuts functionality to Box.

If I am working on one computer and I use shortcuts, I do not have to copy and paste files and take up unnecessary space. BUt when I use shortcuts, and am working on another computer that has the same synced folder as the folder with the shortcuts, I do not see the shortcuts.
The expectation when working with Box sync is that the user will see the same thing in the Box folder regardless of on what system that Box folder resides. This issue with shortcuts isn't consistent with that expectation. And I have found myself recently being in a tough position because I want to at least know what shortcuts were in the folder but there is no way to tell other than getting in my car, driving to the office and looking. Not a good solution.

I have the same issue. It doesn't seem too complicated to sync shortcuts, and it would be of great benefit to some of us. Please consider enabling this as a new feature.
