Exempt New Box View service account from the "Restrict Content Creation" setting
If an enterprise admin has enabled "Restrict Content Creation" for their enterprise (under Admin Console > Enterprise Settings > Content & Sharing), only Admins and Co-Admins are able to create folders and files in the All Files location. This restriction also applies to the service account associated with New Box View apps. This means that if an admin wants to keep "Restrict Content Creation" enabled, they cannot use the New Box View with the same enterprise. The New Box View service account cannot be made a Co-Admin. The "Restrict Content Creation" flag also limits this user from owning any root-level…
1 voteTry using Service Accounts. It’s similar to what New Box View (App Token Apps) offer except that they manage the folders where they upload the content to. You would have to manage how they redistribute the content across different folders in their service account.

Drag and Drop folder moves in the New UI
We'd like the ability to move selected folders in the WebUI to another folder. Currently, you can multi select, but you can't drag and drop - you have to click "Move"
0 votesThis is an existing feature. The user can select multiple items, then drag and drop into another folder on the current page.

Provide Workaround for 'New Note' Button when EID Has 'Restrict Content Creation' Enabled
If an admin has the "Restrict content creation" setting turned on in Admin Console -> Enterprise Settings -> Content & Sharing, the new note button will be grayed out. This is because new notes are created at the first-level (root folder) and this setting blocks that.
We should provide a workaround - either still allowing the 'My Box Notes' folder to be auto-created or by replacing the 'New Note' button with additional functionality that allows the user to choose an existing location in which to create the new note.
9 votesThis issue has been addressed. Users should see a folder picker to choose a default Notes location when “Restrict content creation” is enabled for their enterprise.

Tables - Allow Merging Cells in Box Note Tables
A standard function when working with tables (in Excel and other tools) is a basic 'merge cells' feature that allows multiple cells (whether in a row or column) to be merged into one to function more as a grouping of multiple rows/columns. Box Notes don't currently support merging table cells.
REQUEST: Support merging 2 or more cells in a row/column within a Box Note.

We want to be able to use Markdown tags in Box Notes. On a side note, Preview for MD files currently does not support UTF-8. Supporting Markdown in Box Notes will help as a workaround.

Gmail - Expose Box Links as Pseudo-Attachments like Drive Links Already Do
When an email contains a link to a Drive file, Gmail is smart enough to keep that link in the email (of course), but also adds a nice 'attachment' UI element to the bottom of the email to make it easier for 1) the user to know what files are attached (really just linked) in the email at a glance, and 2) easy to click on the right one that they want to see.
REQUEST: Provide this same UI/UX for Box shared links that are in emails within Gmail too.
0 votesThis is feature is available within our Box for Gmail Add-On, where the add-on will detect and expose Box Shared Links in the add-on sidebar (Gmail does not allow third-parties access directly in the email UI)

Add 'Insert from Box' Option to 'Embed' Box Files within Notes
USER STORY: I have a file (a PowerPoint, for example) that I want to reference in a Box Note -- instead of just putting a link, I want to 'embed' the file so that it's displayed in a more visual manner.
WORKAROUND: Right now, in order to do this I have to screenshot the one-slider, then drag that image into the Box Note, then manually put the shared link for the file below it.
It'd also be nice to be able to (at a minimum) put a shared link for a file into the 'insert link to image' option that…

Automation task email appears to come from root admin.
The email that gets sent out to users informing them of a task awaiting completion as part of an automation is sent on behalf of the main root admin for the EID.
In other words, even if the automation was created by a co-admin and assigned to a random user, the email that user receives will appear to come from the root admin, not the co-admin who created the automation.
