Allow the "User Activity" report to be run for a folder and all sub-folders & content within that folder
Today, the admin may select to run the "User Activity" report for a particular folder. When run for a particular folder, the report will only filter on the contents of the selected folder, and not the contents of subfolders within. Request that the report includes the folder and all sub-folders & contents within that folder, removing the need to run the report at the enterprise level and filtering to a particular folder path from there.

Box Shield
It is common that companies have non-executive directors, and that they work without corporate email accounts. They could use gmail or another personal email accounts so they might want to blacklist free email domains, but have special dispensation for these exec's email addresses. So blocking all free email domains, with an additional granularity to allow certain addresses on a whitelist.

Notification when someone is editing a file
Since we don't have an option to check-in/check-out of files, can you add a feature like Dropbox's badge which alerts a user when someone else is editing a file so we prevent any simultaneous version history/editing issues?
58 votesWe have launched the capability to coauthor Office, iWork and Google Workspace files from Box Drive. Coauthoring documents will provide indication on the users who are actively editing the document.
We currently do not have this planned on our roadmap for other file types.
Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

Improve Box Drive Synchronization
Have experienced slowness of synchronization from Box Webapp to Box Drive. It usually takes 5-7 mins. Need to improve this behavior or to have any function to quickly reflect the change for the certain folders/files.

Provide overwrite switch in CLI to account for existing folder in download location
Currently BOX CLI download doesn't have overwrite action. If a folder already exists in the location where the new folder is being downloaded, the CLI errors out.
There should be a over-write switch to the box CLI folder download. It should be something like:
box folders:download Folder_ID --destination=<location> --over-write=Yes

Incident report on Box status page
We would like you to disclose the cause of incident and the issue handling as much as possible on the status page. Information about the incident is already posted on the status site but we want more details such as the cause and any changes made to prevent future issues.

Box Drive: Support ARM processors
The new Microsoft Surface Pro X uses an ARM based processor and Box Drive doesn't support ARM processors. I'm sure use of the ARM processors will increase rapidly since it allows for much longer battery life and support cellular data connections.

Restrict Box Shield and Governance classifications to co-owners
We would like see that only owners can control Box Shield and Governance classifications. We would like a way to restrict co-owners.

Input file/folder ID instead of folder name in Files and Folders report
Quite often folders with same name appear when the folder name is entered for filtering the folder to create the report, resulting in the report being incorrect although after long time waiting for the report to be ready.
By allowing to filter by file/folder ID instead of folder name, such mistake can be avoided and the the filtering can be made more accurate.10 votesGreat news!

Add another option for deleting trash to "Only allow Policies to delete trash"
As of now if you want to allow Retention Policies to delete trash, you have to have the trash set to delete after a set timeframe of 90, 60, 30, 10, 7 or 1 days. There should to be another option to Never auto delete EXCEPT from Retention Policies. This would safeguard end users from losing data that has been mistakenly added to the trash while giving us the option to set up retention policies to be GDPR compliant or remove sensitive data .

Add Capture functionality on Box mobile app
I regularly recommend Capture to users in our org as a solution to streamlining the collection of photos and videos Box. I’d say about 1/3 of our users have Android devices so they’re not able to take advantage of it, unfortunately.
As an aside, I’d love to just see the Capture functionality consolidated into the main Box app so that that users don’t need to download a separate app in the first place.

Box report status indicator
When exported reports are being generated in “Box Reports”, they would like more non-success outcomes to be shown in case the report times out, gets cancelled, pauses, etc, instead of continuing to show the “In Progress” status.

Allow Metadata search for files uploaded via Box API
Documents in BOX are not searchable based on Metadata when uploaded using BOX API
Document uploaded into BOX via EPHESOFT using BOX API and 3 metadata elements are attached to the document. We can see the document in the BOX and the metadata elements are present in the Custom Metadata section in the BOX.
2 votesThere are two ways to find files in Box based on the metadata. The existing Search API provides a metadata filtering option and also indexes metadata content. The Metadata Query API provides SQL-like syntax for finding files based on specific metadata condtions. Start a Relay workflow manually (Manual Start)
In the Relay Classic system I could start a workflow manually by opening Relay Classic, choosing my template and then starting the workflow. Now, workflows must be triggered by a folder or file action. I don't want this as we have Financial Advisors in the firm utilizing Box that are segregated from each other (each FA can't have access to the other FA's client files...). They'll all need to start the same workflow, but if I have one central folder that is the trigger folder for the workflow, they can easily access each other's client files that are dropped there.…

File Request link upload notification
We want a feature of email notification which send to the actual user who uploaded the file.
I understand that if "require users to provide email" option is enabled, users can confirm the uploader's email address on web app. I found that the email address was shown in “Updated” column.
However, users cannot confirm the actual uploader from the report, and email notifications will only be sent to users who enabled notification settings of "upload" in their folder settings or account settings.
Enabling the above feature makes it much easier to confirm if the user successfully uploaded the file.

Date-based recurring workflow triggers
Relay is great for workflows that occur because a human remembered to perform an action, but we run into issues if the human in question does not remember to start their part. For example, we have a workflow that starts with a staff member downloading a vendor invoice each month, auditing it, then uploading it to our accounting team.
