A true silent update is not currently planned. We have made some improvements to Box Drives update behavior by including silent updates when Box Drive is launching, if an update is already available. This improvement is in v2.3 for Mac and v2.3 for Windows.

Interesting suggestion, but we won’t be focusing on this ask for the time being due to competing priorities.

While we don’t have any current plans to support this feature, I would recommend the following workaround to use the ‘Description’ field that appears at the top of a folder. You can even add hyperlinks into the description! More information is available here: https://community.box.com/t5/How-to-Guides-for-Migrating-and/Adding-Descriptions-to-Folders-and-Files/ta-p/58565

An error occurred while saving the comment Box Admin Admin commentedNot sure what the solution is but the problem is people have about 20 pages of shared folders and there are tons of folders with similar if not the exact name as other folders. The context of the folder is lost if they are simply added to the 4th level of an existing hierarchy.
For now we ask users to be ask specific as possible with folder names and also to try and remove individual shares and put that data into a collective share but they have many cross functional needs which won't work for the general folders or external/internal collaborations.

An error occurred while saving the comment Box Admin Admin commentedYou can use Crooze.
Right now emails for the expiration of external collaborators only goes to the folder owner, not the co-owner also. Many times the co-owner is the one who is responsible for actually maintaining the list of collaborators. That is the entire point of the Co-admin role, it's an editor with the ability to add/remove collaborators. I'm not sure how this was missed.
