    Comment from USAA:
We are working on the event-based retention policy in Box and find it’s challenging for users to be exposed to the large number of templates that are created for event/metadata-based retention purpose. Ideally a template would be scoped – e.g, visible to certain teams, or under certain folders.

One idea proposed is to leverage the "ownership" model with templates. This would mean any template could be assigned access via a folder owner. We would typically do this with service account owners and not actual users with a few exceptions. This does mean that metadata templates would apply in a cascading fashion, but at least only where assigned.

Thank you for your submission. However, this does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized.

We will reconsider with additional use cases.

We are currently not planning to implement this feature and will continue to prevent all Box Drive results from appearing in Explorer/Finder searches.

Box Drive does not download the all of the metadata (File name, folder structure, etc.) of your Box content. Instead, it is downloaded on demand and then evicted when it is no longer relevant. This eviction process is not visible to users and it is not easily predictable. This would cause the search results in Explorer/Finder to be inconsistent for users – sometimes they would find a file and other times they may not if the metadata and file were evicted.

We have chosen not to download all of the metadata (and then keep it up to date with changes) as this can result in a large performance, storage and bandwidth tax which is not scalable – especially in environments where users interface with millions of files/folders.

This request is not on our short-term roadmap. We will update you if anything changes.

I have a customer who has an Operating unit (subsidiary) that wants to block access to Box all together for just their email domain. Blacklisting would potentially help them achieve this as they don't want to do IP Whitelisting.

This notification would advise/remind user of data retention policies and suggest user remove data if un-needed. This enables enterprise users with a process to manage & control stale data.

Add functionality to visualize similar columns as seen in File Explorer into Box Web (for what Box has available)

This suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap. We may revisit adding new functionality to the Installed Apps section with more customer requests for this data.

When looking at a user's account in the Admin Console - we'd like the ability for drill down detail on individual Box Sync and Box Mobile installations (e.g. device type/model, last used, etc.)

This is currently not on the roadmap as we have not heard this request from many other customers. We will consider it in the future if there is increased customer demand.

Right now, when the policy enables a user to extend a policy, the user has the option to extend as long as they want.

We would like the ability to limit the extension period when setting up the retention policy. For example, allow the folder owner to extend the policy but the maximum amount of time is 30 days.
