Box Shield inherit classification on move/copy, not only on upload
Box Shield needs to have the ability for files to inherit the classification of the containing folder during a move or copy. Currently, a file will only inherit the classification if it is uploaded to the folder with a certain classification. Example:
File A has a classification of "Confidential" and is moved/copied to a folder that has an "Internal" classification. File A will not automatically inherit the "Internal" permission, and it either needs to be manually changed to "Internal", or have the entire containing folder re-classified as "Internal" so that all containing files then inherit the "Internal" classification.
However, if…

Force Box Drive to sync status with Box every time file is touched .
for example: User A locks a file, User B opens the file in drive (the lock status still hasn’t sync’d down user’s machine yet)
User B edits the file and tries to save but Drive will show that it wasn’t able to save back the change to box and creates a problematic file.
User B closes the file, and then reopens the file. The change User B made still shows up.
Onedrive checks for the latest status every time it opens a file or when you try to save a file it will sync status with what is in the…75 votes -
New UI Beta Feedback
In the new UI beta, the Dev Console and Admin Console have been pushed too far to the bottom of the page. Whenever you hover over a link in Chrome, the URL preview covers up the Admin Console link. Suggestion would be to move both up to be a section beneath the collections.

@'ing box groups in comments
Is there a way to @mention a box user group in the comments section? We have executive team groups of 4-7 people that need tagged in the comments for notifications to approve and discussed projects, but when you are @'ing all 7 it looks a little messy as well as remembering all of those users. Since the email addresses are linked in the box group, would it be possible to @mention that unique group name in the comment and get the same result as @'ing a single user name?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts/feedback.38 votesThank you for your feedback! We believe this feature is important and can provide significant value to the Notes product experience. However, we cannot prioritize this feature in the near term. We will keep this under consideration for our future roadmap.

As an admin I like to be able to search on a folder ID in the admin console
I just had a user with only a path to a folder with an id (https://company.app.box.com/folder/123456789) for example.
I didn't have access to it, so I was wondering which folder it actually was.
I couldn't find a way to search for the ID in the admin console, so I could find the real name and owner.
My suggestion is to have a search field in the admin console where you can put the Folder ID and it returns the full path and owner.

File Shortcuts
I want to be able to have file shortcuts. They are just pointers to a file that can be placed in other folders throughout the file system. This makes it seem like there are copies of the file in multiple folders and all of the copies get updated whenever one gets updated because its actually one file with a bunch of references pointing to it.
33 votesWe understand the convenience that implementing this feature would bring, but recommend using the existing Bookmarks feature as a more efficient and simplified means for achieving the desired behavior.

Edit in real time on Box Drive
Ability to edit a document in real time with another collaborator through Box Drive.
46 votesBox Drive does support co-editing in iWork, but doesn’t support it for any other application type, as it’s dependent on the application vendor.

At this point we have no plans to create powershell specific SDK. However, the Box Command Line utility can be called from within powershell which may be of help. https://developer.box.com/guides/tooling/sdks/cli/
Furthermore there is some good (if a bit dated) information on how to use the Windows SDK from within Powershell here: https://community.box.com/t5/Platform-and-Development-Forum/Automating-box-processes-using-powershell-and-the-box-windows/m-p/50342

Add "Dimensions" info under "File properties"
To be able to see the dimensions of an image is an extremely valuable feature for designers to review and "QC" all of the marketing assets without having to download all the files.
28 votesThank you for the suggestion. While we definitely understand the value of displaying dimensions for image files, this functionality is not currently planned on our near term roadmap. Please continue to add comments and suggestions here to help us prioritize in the future.

Web Interface Search Bug
The web interface won't let you select filters or check boxes from the pop-up menu when searching using Safari. Seems like a bug, as it used to work.
1 voteHowdy! Thank you for the flag. Since this is a bug report, we will share it with our Product Support team.

Add Linux to Web app QA process
The web app UX is horrible on Linux. It's not just one bug, but dozens of bugs that affect Linux and ChromeOS users.
Examples:
- Downloading a Docx will prompt you to open with Word instead
- Clicking Open will prompt you to install Box Tools
- Clicking install Box Tools will download an EXE fileAll of these are completely irrelevant and an annoying hurdle for Linux users. Box Tools for linux doesn't exist. Linux Users can't run EXE files. Open With Word doesn't make ANY sense, as Word doesn't exist for Linux.
Please fix.
53 votesThank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, we do not have plans to add support for Linux to the web app at this time. We’ll continue to monitor this thread to gauge interest, and will post updates should our plans change in the future.

Trash file from its preview
The trash command is missing from within the "..." button of the document view.
The workaround requires a lot of extra steps: navigate to the parent folder, select the file, trash the file.
Moreover it is not consistant with what is possible with folders: you can trash a folder from its own view.53 votes -
Improve overall support response times
Overall support response times for Box standard support have been terrible as of late. I understand that most staff are working from home but this does not justify >3 day response times on tickets where functionality within your products is broken and is hindering productivity.
Did you fire half of your support staff?
1 voteThank you for bringing this to our attention. We have escalated your support ticket.

File Request Action in Box Relay
A file request action on Folder in Relay that could automate generation of the File Request link and email it to a specified email address. Supporting automation of uploads from individuals without Box accounts.
9 votesAn integration between File Request and Relay was delivered this year. At the moment this programmatic generation of a link can be achieved with an API. An outcome type in Relay to generate a FR link is not yet planned.

Remove multiple collaborators from folders
Box currently does not have a way to remove multiple collaborators at bulk.
Currently, admin needs to manually remove multiple users by opening the appropriate folder and removing users one at a time.Suggestion can also apply to removing collaborators from multiple folders.
103 votesDue to other higher priority items, this has been deprioritized.

@mention all users
