In Excel saved in SharePoint, the URL can be used to refer to the value of a cell in the other Excel file.
We would like a similar functionality in Box.
For example, if the file ID is "1234567890" and we want to refer to cell A1 of "sheet1", do the following.
ex) ='https://****.ent.box.com/file/1234567890[sheet1]'!A149 votes
Since we can already click on and highlight cells in an Excel file in Preview mode on Box, I would love the functionality of being able to highlight and get a Total (Sum) of cells that is displayed in Preview mode without having to Open or Download the file.22 votes
Currently, we are able to do commenting of the document in Box by using the @mention. But we are not able to do the same when we are editing document in the native Ms Office software eg Words, Excel & PowerPoint. The @mention does not work.
Would like to have the same feature when we are working in the native document?75 votes
After we enabled Co-Authoring, we are not able to change the Microsoft label (Sensitivity) when we open the document e.g. in Word because it is greyed out in Office and Box takes it from the Office file. It would be great if the possibility of changing the Microsoft label (Sensitivity) was enabled.21 votes
Shared Link creation doesn't automatically add user to folder when adding file in Box for Office in Outlook
When adding a file to an email in Outlook and using the Box for Office integration to upload it to Box and create a shared link, you have the option to make the link visible to Invited Users Only. However, when doing this, it does not add all users as collaborators to the file so they can access the shared link. Ideally, the integration should add the users CC'd in the email ass collaborators if they are not collabed already so that they can access the Invited People only link3 votes
Unfortunately, co-authoring option is not currently supported for password-protected files. Box have told me this is because the system considers the password protection as a lock.
Therefore bringing it your attention to add this feature request.
Also we are finding that co-authoring takes a lot long to open files and it is not as smooth as its made out to be.2 votes

When inviting people, I would like to search not only by name but also by photo, department name, etc. Is there a way to do this?
When making an invitation, please include not only your name and account.
Linked to microsoft account etc., the account's photo and
By making it possible to search by department, etc., it is more accurate.
I think you will be able to receive an invitation.1 vote
Currently there is no option edit shared link permissions (between Can View, or Can View and Download, or Can View Download and Edit). In order to do this, a user has to go to box and make those settings changes. It would be a better user experience to be able to make those changes in the Box for Office Outlook UI directly.2 votes
Using the Box integration in Outlook. Would like to be able to rename a file before saving it to a Box folder.1 vote
Everytime a Box folder is added to a Microsoft Teams team using the box plugin, or a user is invited to a box folder, the according folder appears in All files. We have a large number of teams and a lot of projects, so "All files" gets messed up quite quick. Box and the box plugin should check if a user already has access to a folder in the higher hierarchy. In this case the folder should not appear separately in "All Files".1 vote
When trying to save an email using the "Save to Box" Add-in, the only option is .eml. This was an old format for outlook express. Once an email is saved in this format, it cannot be opened in Outlook client. There needs to be an option for .msg. Using the File > Save As option allows you to change the extention, but that is extra steps. Outlook web will allow you to open the saved email, but you cannot save it as a .msg after the fact.3 votes
It takes 5 minutes or more for Box Drive to show co-authored changes. Even if that change is done by just one person. Basically , if a change is made by someone on a file and he closes the file, the file is not updated for about 5 minutes. When attached right away to a email, the attachment will still have the previous version.
These may be reflected in documents once opened, however, cannot be seen in the Box Drive window. The 'last updated' date and time does not reflect when a document has co-authored saved changes.
This is extremely…3 votes
I would like to see a lock feature implemented so that tenants with the "Box for Microsoft Office" feature enabled can occupy and edit files
Tenants with the "Box for Microsoft Office" feature enabled will not be able to update locked files.
As an alternative, the following procedure may be applicable, but has the following disadvantages
①Lock the target file
②Download the file and update it locally
③Upload updated files
Many steps and cumbersome
If another user downloads > edits > uploads a file that is locked, the file will be updated.
Therefore, I would like to see a lock function implemented so that files can be occupied and edited like Box tools.5 votes

Now that co-authoring is available on Office files (which is a great feature!) version history is paying the price. On files that are edited often, the version history is growing out of control which leads to two primary issues:
1 - Since only the last 100 versions of a file are available, the significant increase in versions caused by co-authoring means you may only have a few days worth of version history instead of months or years of history. Consider more version history and/or the ability to specify on a file how often an "accessible" version is saved for viewing…5 votes
In "Recent Files" clicking on the three horizontal dots/ellipsis/meatball menu allows you to open Microsoft files in the browser, but not in the app. It'd be nice if you could just open in the app from the Recent Files section. Thanks.3 votes

When we create a PowerPoint from +New button, the plane slides will be shown with Standard, 4:3.
According to the current standard, could you change the default size from 4:3 to 16:9? Or Could we have the setting that we can change the default size by ourselves?7 votes
Prior to MS Office Coauthoring, I could lock a file in Box, with would allow me to edit it normally, but it would be read only for anyone else.
Since coauthoring, I can not open and edit files that I have locked. Support has let me know that this is just a limitation of coauthoring.
The workaround is to move the file to a folder where only I have editing access, but that would require moving the file around to different locations.
Would love the ability to temporarily lock files again. And if this isn't going to be (or can't…1 vote
