An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Bilson commentedI'd like to see this as well. This is the number one request from my users RE file requests. Because these links are often client facing, they want short, memorable urls, not the long alphanumeric links we're currently limited to.

We’ve been focusing on making the following improvement to Box Groups instead: allowing external users to be added to groups (https://pulse.box.com/forums/909778/suggestions/35982226) and using groups for granting access to apps and enterprise settings (https://pulse.box.com/forums/909778/suggestions/36670615).
An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Bilson commentedWould love to see this added as well. Our users sometimes need to share content with All Users, so we need to maintain an AD group for All Box Users which can be a pain to keep up to date.

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Bilson commentedWould like to see this as well. There's currently no way for a regular user to see who's in a group before assigning access to said group.

Thank you for the suggestion. We currently do not have this planned on our roadmap. We will place this in our backlog as we continue evaluating ideas to improve Box Drive.
Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

This is not technically possible with the current non-persistent architecture of Box Drive.
When the ‘Box’ folder disappears (whens users quit, update, log out) Windows folder redirection creates a new ‘Box’ folder to continue to redirect content. This forks the redirection out of Box Drive.
Workarounds have been investigated heavily, but the cost to implement is too large to commit to the roadmap now.
An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Bilson commentedAdding to the comments here. This is a major gap in product functionality. As OneDrive continues to gain additional features/functionality, it's getting harder to ignore. Microsoft makes it dead simple to integrate OneDrive with Windows, and the lack of folder redirection is a major headache for our users. It's becoming more and more difficult to tell our users they can't use OneDrive because we use Box when Box lacks a major feature that affects workflow in this way.

Thank you for the suggestion. Box currently offers the ability to lock folders using the folder lock API - https://developer.box.com/reference/post-folder-locks/
We do not have a feature on our roadmap to expose this functionality from Box Drive. We will place this in our backlog as we continue evaluating ideas to improve Box Drive.
Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Bilson commentedThere's another enhancement request with the same idea. Voting here as well as this is an ongoing issue for us where users accidentally drag and drop a folder somewhere unintentional, resulting in the folder/files "disappearing". Out admins constantly deal with this problem.

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Bilson commentedWould love to see this implemented as users accidentally moving folders is a constant problem for us. Even better, I'd like the ability to "lock from move" certain folders, which I'll raise as another enhancement request.

An error occurred while saving the comment Rob Bilson commentedThis appears to also affect more than just column width. Box Drive doesn't respect other folder view settings such as icon size, etc.

We have a request from several of our users for this functionality. Currently both Box Drive and Box Web allow us to lock the file in a coauthoring environment. However, even though the file shows the lock icon, when you open it to edit, the file is opened in read-only mode.
Our users want to be able to lock a file so that they're the only one who can work on it for a given period of time. Our finance and accounting people often have spreadsheets open all day and don't want others in the document until they're finished. With the inability to lock the file, it's possible others will open the doc and edit without the original editor being aware (they may have the desktop app minimized while they work on other things).
