    Box currently offers Collections and Metadata on the web app. I would love to understand the gap between those two features and the user needs so that we can come up with a solution that will solve your problem.

    (You can use custom metadata to "label" folders; these custom metadata are searchable in the search bar. Please bear in mind that there is some delay in indexing the metadata, so you will not be able to search the new metadata immediately.)

For example: are you primarily looking for this notification on Preview? The files list? And in which applications – Web? Box Drive? Box mobile applications?
