Ability to accept invitation request to “Join Enterprise” via Mobile app
We would like a way to see and accept invitation request for “Join Enterprise,” not only in Web browsers but also in Mobile [Box for iOS/Android] too.
At the moment, users are unable to confirm and click “Accept” for the invitation request, when they log-in via [Box for iOS/Android].
When there are many users who uses iPads only, it would take so much time and effort for them to access to Box via Web browser everytime, only to accept the invitation.11 votes -
Enable Collections for users in bulk via Admin Console
We have a list of 100 people to enable Collections for, and we are not able to copy/paste email addresses or names in the admin console. The only way we can get it to work is to type out one name at a time. Do we really have to enter each of the 100 names? We need to enable this today.
It'd be helpful to either allow copy and paste of multiple email addresses at once, or to allow some sort of csv upload method.
1 voteThanks for the feedback. This component was originally planned for customers to enable new features for a small group of users before rolling out to the all users. We will keep this in mind for the future, but unfortunately, we are unable to prioritize this against other priorities.

Specific Access to subfolders in the same Folder
Is it possible to give to users view permission only to specific subfolders within a folder? Example: I want to upload to a master folder 5 subfolders to our daughter company partners and I want to make sure that the 3 subfolders out of the 5 of them will be viewed only from their bosses. This flexibility helps you to avoid creating 2 different folders for the same Task-Subject.
1 votePermissions are based on the folder. All files within a folder will be accessible to all collaborators. See here for more info and contact Support with any questions: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697254-Understanding-Folder-Permissions

Add ability to get a user's collaborations via API
Since there is a function to get a list of invitations to the group, I want to provide the same to the users.
Like,
https://api.box.com/2.0/users/:user_id/collaborations4 votesWe don’t currently plan to provide such an API, however please leave a comment if you have more information about how this would be used. In the interim, you can identify all of a user’s collaborations by requesting items in the user’s root folder (id = 0) and filtering out those where the owned_by user is the current user. This would require an additional API call for each item to get the collaboration id, but if you are only interested in knowing which items re collaborated versus owned by the user, it may be sufficient for your purposes.

Make API rate limits more sophisticated, especially for large enterprises
When working with a Box Enterprise that has tens of thousands of users, scripts designed to do things like user information syncing, group syncing, or user provisioning/deprovisioning often run into real issues with the Box API rate limits.
Some calls (e.g. downloading or uploading a file) are clearly significantly more resource-intensive than others (e.g. getting a user’s aliases). The method Google has implemented for the Gmail API (see https://developers.google.com/gmail/api/v1/reference/quota) seems like a really great way to balance the need to protect the back-end systems against the need for increased performance for less-intensive calls. It would be nice if Box…

Allow reorganization of received collaborated folders
I would like to request that all users are allowed, as non-folder owners, to place shared folders inside non-shared folders. This allows for better organization for users and therefore an overall better user experience. All other cloud services that I am a part of allow this.
Example:
I own the folders "fruit" and "orange." Someone else owns the folder "apple" and shares it with me. Currently, I cannot place the folder "apple" inside of my "fruit" folder. I would like to request this is changed.Currently, Box permissions (and as it was explained to me, security) does not allow it.…

Box Drive - Add Support for .pst Files
While .pst files are visible from Box's web client, they are not visible from Box Drive. This results in an inability to connect .pst files from Box to Outlook, and is preventing us from rolling out Box across our enterprise.

Trying to migrate away from One Note to Box notes. Hence need a client that works with Linux. Specifically debian.
95 votesThank you for the feedback. Adding a Box Notes client for Linux it is not aligned with our prioritization for the year, but we will let you know if anything changes.

Device Pinning as a condition for "Download Restriction"
Wondering if "device pinning" can register details of devices utilized by the user and allows/disallow the login from it. Why cant it be used as a condition under "Download Restriction". MDM solutions are not yet fully matured to cover all & frequently changing devices types .
1 voteDynamic Device Trust as a condition for Download restriction is on the roadmap.

When copying a folder with File Requests configured within it, add an option to have the File Request configurations copied as well.
We have a need to setup folders with File Request features for our customers. When we do this manually, it takes a lot of time to set everything up as we need it. We'd like to be able to copy a folder (along with its subfolders) and its File Request setup. This would make any existing setup, like a template, which we can simply copy and rename in preparation for another customer.
Currently, we can only copy the folders with or without contents. But either action does not copy the File Request configurations in the source folder.
Thanks for your…

Request Link via API
Scenario for Request Link via API: 1) Ticketing system support case requires the openee to upload files to the ticket 2) Use app to collect case number, authenticate user, create folder with case number 3) Set File upload link "Title", "Add Instructions" and "require users to provide email" 4) Get file upload link from API for pasting into the support ticket

Custom collaboration expiration periods for individual folder collaborators
Currently, the only options for collaboration expiration on a folder is set at an enterprise level.
The request is multipart, for the options to
1) Set a custom collaboration expiration period at the folder level only (regardless of what the enterprise setting is)
2) Set different expiration periods (e.g. 30 days vs 60 days) for different collaborators or groups within the folder63 votes -
Comments / Tasks from Desktop (Box Drive)
In order to currently leave a comment on a file we have to right click on it, click on view on Box drive, which opens chrome, loads the file, then click on the comment icon on the right and then leave our comment
A quicker and much simpler way of doing this would be to bring in comments and tasks into the box drive app to save us all of those steps of having to do this through our browser. There are a couple ways of doing this
1) Bring in notifications, tasks and a comment stream into the system…

Ability to move deleted trash items to org wide "Vault"
User some times delete trashed items by accident (instead of restoring them), asking Box Admins to raise support ticket to retrieve from the backup.
Also, some organizations have legal requirements or policies to retain files & folders indefinitely, yet want to hide from users when user have decided to deleted completely from their Trash.
This shall hide permanently deleted trashed items from the users, but allowing Box Admins to see/retain them and quickly restore accidentally deleted trashed items.
1 voteThank you for the suggestion! At the moment there is no plan for this feature. We may look into this in the future.

See and share full path from Box Drive
A function that enables to share Box Drive location/path between users.
When using Box Drive on a daily bases, it is inconvenient that the user needs to open the link on the browser once to identify the specific location/folder path.
It would improve to shorten the work flow if the users can see the full path from Box Drive so that they don’t have to go through the process to open box.com.
23 votesThanks for the suggestion! It’s not currently on the roadmap at this time.

Make login screen text easier to edit
In the admin console, there's a "Login Page" section, where it's possible to set a message that appears for all users on the Box login page. Currently, editing/formatting that message requires both access to the admin console, a knowledge of HTML, and an understanding of which HTML tags are and are not valid in that message.
As the information posted as a part of that message is often something that comes from communications staff, not technical staff, those barriers to editing it are significant. It would be nice if there was both a way to delegate the editing of that…
