Comments / Tasks from Desktop (Box Drive)
In order to currently leave a comment on a file we have to right click on it, click on view on Box drive, which opens chrome, loads the file, then click on the comment icon on the right and then leave our comment
A quicker and much simpler way of doing this would be to bring in comments and tasks into the box drive app to save us all of those steps of having to do this through our browser. There are a couple ways of doing this
1) Bring in notifications, tasks and a comment stream into the system tray app. We have that nice search feature now which is amazing so it shouldn't be too hard to add a new tab there for tasks/comments and notifications like we have on the website. Show us a number somewhere to inform how many outstanding tasks, new/unread comments, new file uploads and/or mentions there are that need our attention. From there we could read and reply straight from the system tray
2) Have a small indicator or number on the file icon itself in windows file explorer that let's us know how many comments/tasks are on that file and if there are any new ones.. We could right click on the right, go to the box context menu into a comments/tasks section that would bring up the discussions on that file. From there, in a popup menu or perhaps it just triggers the same system tray window discussed in the above point, we could read, reply or complete our tasks

Kudos!!! I must add that your blog post on this subject is quite original, and I learnt a lot from it. The new desktop app from Poe allows you to access all the AI chatbots in one place. The goal of Poe is to be the web browser for accessing and using AI chatbots, and right about now, the app just got a whole lot of updates. I would like to invite you to visit my website and read more about this subject on my own blog.

Agreed, our fabrication team works almost entirely out of BOX DRIVE. Since my primary function is to review and comment on cases, I am only able to use the browser.

I would also very much like to see a way to read/access comments within the Box Drive. Make the comments available in the desktop app (Box Drive)

Yes, we are trying to replace email conversations or texting to partners and trying to keep all comments related to the project file. That way all conversations about the project are in one place for all collaborators to see. This avoids repetition, especially if someone missed something. Some of our users (especially those who manipulate the most files) use Box Drive exclusively and spend much less time in Box Browser, and others are using Box mobile exclusively (out in the field) but we all need to see each otehr's comments on a file or something will get missed.

Seconded! I primarily use box drive on a Mac, and I just e-mailed some colleagues about a group document we're working on only to discover that they're already discussing it via comments. Comments could increase efficiency, but in this case they actually slowed us down!
