Provide a way to "pause" syncing of files marked for offline
Allow a use to stop/pause syncing of files that are marked for offline access. We have multiple users who travel and are on metered connections but still need access to the internet and their offline files.

With BoxSync EOL on apple silicon, this is a major issue for laptops on metered connections. Office staff is constantly updating files I need offline access to and some of these files are 500MB to 1GB....EACH. To expect this to be managed over a phone hotspot is a major push for our business to move to Sharepoint.

Pease add this feature. We are an international nonprofit and not having control over bandwidth usage with a simple pause feature is disastrous for us.

In box drive on Mac, I use the Offline feature. When I am on a metered connection or patchy network, there needs to be an option to pause uploads.
In Microsoft OneDrive there is a feature where the upload/sync can be paused (manually or for select hours). During this time the offline available files are accessible for view and edit. Once the Sync is enabled, the files get uploaded this helps is managing network traffic on a slow network.
I am unable to find a similar feature in Box Drive for Mac. It would be great to have this capability.

I tether my phone a lot for work travel and this is killing my data when I forget to quit Box Drive.

I am shocked that I cannot pause syncing on Drive like I could on Sync! This is one of the more valuable features of a mobile workforce. I often hotspot from my phone which isn't prepared for this amount of data. Please allow this feature. I'm tired of quitting the Drive app every time I want to pause syncing.

If we quit Box Drive, our files become inaccessible, and if we don't quit, our data is used to sync heavy files that don't need immediate syncing.

Yes, in our company we travel a lot and are frequently on metered wifi connections. We have a lot of folders marked for offline sync. I need the ability to pause syncing of files so if someone back in the office makes a bunch of changes I don't blow through all my 4G data syncing it to my laptop. Just closing Box Drive is not an option as it causes a loss of access to any files that I have synced locally.

This is a no-brainer. Didn't Box-sync do this?

I cannot work on Box drive folders where I need to run a compiled C program intending to do some data analysis that involves reading some data files and create some files in a loop. Earlier it wasn't any issue with Box Sync but now with the new filesystem the program fails to execute and the folder becomes unreadable (ls doesn't work either). The only option is to reboot the computer to regain access to those files. The whole folder, copied to a regular filesystem location outside of Box Drive, works perfectly. I wonder if there is a way to pause sync to be able to work with these files within Box Drive.

Please! This is a must! You cannot assume our computers are always running on fast networks!!

Completely agree, this is standard on many clould storage platforms now. We also use metered connections occasionally so being able to pause syncing would be very useful.

Box sync used to have this feature; in the move to Box drive you've removed it. If I'm tethering overseas from a phone (eg bandwidth is expensive) or otherwise operating with a poor internet connection, pausing offline files sync is vital.

Yes! completely agreed! Especially when other competing cloud services have pause upload functions, it seems kind of silly for box not to have it.
