Need warning message when different filename/extension is uploaded using "Upload New Version"
User can upload a new version with different filename/extension from the current version using "Upload New Version" feature. User should be prompted when this happens as this is often the user error.

This is a security issue and should be address. We recently had a file overwritten with another file with a completely different file extension and there was no error or warning message.
The uploaded file with the new extension had secure information that exposed to the public for a short time before it was realized what happen. We were able to revert to the version of the file before it was over-written so we were able to correct the issue.
However, a simple internal check if you are uploading a file with the same name and/or file extension should be a standard thing for a security on the next version being uploaded so this would be a good feature to have in Box.

Totally Agree. Sometimes, this make confusion the other user as if seem the file has gone.
additionally, newer file name overwriting also make confuse.
At least this should be given to user's choice. also this can be avoid since giving notice to the uploader who careless on that time. -

If the user accidentally uploads a new version with a different name file, it will be difficult to find the original file.
