the ability that allows users to add each image pages of a PDF ducoment in Box Canvas
we want a feature that allows users to add images of each page of a document in Box Canvas.
Onenote has a same kind of feature. We are thinking ot switch from OneNote to Box Canvas, so we want to add images of each page and then add comments to those images.
currently we can not add each page of a PDF including 100 or more pages on Canvas.4 votes -
Panning in Canvas: other than mouse functions, scrollbars would help
If you're zoomed in on a Canvas, the mouse scroll wheel is a nice way to move up and down, or left and right. But, like most applications, scroll bars would be great to have as well.

Ability to preview Box shared links such as Box Notes, Box Canvas, images, and videos when pasted

Keyboard navigation between tools
It would be great if the user could switch between tools with the press of a single key on their keyboard.
Some tools like excalidraw / figma implement this navigation in such a way that you can select Pen, Line or Arrow by simply typing their first letter. This helps a lot to speed up the drawing process1 vote -
Allow Box Canvas to draw relational data diagram
Allow for more arrow options so we can actually use Canvas to build data table relational diagram, so data table relationship can be illustrated for one-many, many-one, one-one and many-many types.

Request for additional functions to BoxCanvas
We have received requests from users to add the following functions to BoxCanvas as well as BoxNote.
A function to display a preview of the URL.

Canvas feature improvements
After trying Canvas it looks like in order to get more use out of this compared to other open white board on the market it really does need allow more flexibility and improvements such as:
- Ability to allow GIF's for presentations.
- Allow links/ bookmark to files within box within a text box.
- Allow preview box of a video or crop a video within box to show a snippet of the video for presentation.
- Allow a preview link/ bookmark to Audio file to play.
- Currently drawn notes or shapes only allow corners to expand, it would help to add in side…

It is useful if it be set icons of each company's own without having to go through the trouble of pasting images.

I would hope the specification that can change the size, color, text, etc. of multiple objects at once.

No "print" option like in Box Notes
There's no way to export or print the Canvas. This ability exists in Miro, so if Canvas were to offer this, we could likely cut out our Miro licenses. This ability exists today in Box Notes, so it would make sense for it to be available in Canvas as well.

I'd like an easy way to add emoji icons to a Canvas, both to help people express their thoughts and opinion on a topic, but also to help me create a more visually captivating Canvas e.g. flags, process flow icons etc

In Canvas, I would a way to link text to a Box file. I have built an Org Chart in Canvas & I would like to embed a hyperlink to a job description which is saved in a Box folder.

Functional improvement of Box Canvas
I'd like to see more color variations (pastel color selection should be available).

Adding custom shapes to Canvas
I would like to be able to add shapes to Canvas, for example the AWS shape library to mirror the behaviour of another white boarding tool we're currently using.
This would allow us to collaborate on complex architecture diagrams using very specific shapes/icons.
Some ways this could be introduced:
-shapes available to all Canvas users
- or the ability to add templates pre-populated with custom shapes
-or the ability to upload custom shapes for the entire instance5 votes -
Visual indicator when Box Canvas user is just a viewer, not editor
When using Canvas as a viewer, the user may try to vote on the sticky notes, or try to locate the toolbar, and think that something is broken, when in reality they are looking for features available to editors only.
We should consider adding some visual indicator of the "view only" status e.g. a banner or a badge at the top, an icon over which a user can hover over to get more info, or an icon by the cursor arrow to indicate editing is disabled.

Lock content areas
Add the ability for the board owner to lock some content so that people cannot move it by accident. It helps when collaborating on a board with multiple users.
