  1. File Request uploads to Box include uploader's user information

    The following would be ideal:
When uploaded via File Request and logged into Box, the uploaded file(s) will contain the uploader's user information such as name, email address, and more (more detailed information such as tracking code values) in metadata.

This idea is based on a use case of a college where a large number of students submit documents via File Request, and college administrators want to make sure which document was submitted by who, referring to the document's metadata.

  2. I would like to be notified when an error occurs and an item cannot be uploaded, or to be able to check the error log in the report.

     エラーが発生してアイテムのアップロードができなかった際に通知、またはレポートでエラーログを確認できるようにしてほしい

    内容
When an error occurs when uploading a large number of items, it is difficult to list the items that could not be uploaded from the UI.
For this reason, we would like the following functions to be added.
・If an error is detected when uploading to a folder that contains file requests, notify the user who uploaded the file or the owner of the file via e-mail or on the web.
・A function to output the log of failed uploads to the user activity report.

  3. Rollback all files uploaded even if one fails to upload

Under the current design, when uploading multiple files, the successful files are stored in Box, even if one of the uploads fails. As a result, subsequent processing, e.g. adding metadata, may also not take place. This is inconvenient for the user under the usecase of using File Request+Metadata. The user has to look for files that were not uploaded and has to check the metadata for files that were uploaded. And if the uploader is anonymous, it's impossible. This Pulse requests that if one or more uploads fail, the uploads of other files performed in that File Request are also…

  4. File Request's new email notification format is a step backwards - it doesn't tell us the email address of the uploader (but it used to)

A few months ago, the format for the email notification would show the email address of an uploader that used the "file request" feature.

The updated format has LESS information, now it simply says that "someone" uploaded a file. Go back to the prior version which showed the email address of the uploader.

  5. Provide an s3 compatible interface to box

Provide an S3 Compatible Interface to Box. This will allow applications that have native support writing to S3 storage the ability to natively write to Box instead.

  6. Increase Upload File Size Limit

Currently, the Upload File Size Limit for Enterprise Plus is 150 GB. The ask is to increase this upload limit, ideally up to 1 TB.

  8. Ability to use the client share link with templates

I would love for the client share link you can create for individual folders to have the ability to be built from templates. Having to add logos and file descriptions and additional file categories to every client upload link can take some serious time. This should be able to be streamlined by adding the ability to copy from templates so that clients can easily drag and drop files/folders into the correct category and with the added benefit of feeling more professional with company logos already set up for the links

  9. Complete backup without corrupting files

The main upload methods for BOX are Box Drive and Wev, but even with a business account you can only upload up to 1TB per month. This is based on fair use. I also agree with this. FTP doesn't seem to have any such limitations. Although FTP is very useful for uploading large amounts of data, it does not address the problems of the protocol itself. Even in binary transfer mode, FTP and FTPS do not always protect against file corruption. Verifying the integrity of files is very easy on the web because files are only updated in small amounts.…

  10. API Calls to Get Folder ID from File Request URL

Currently the only way to get the Folder ID that's associated for a File Request URL that exists is to know the Folder ID or the File Request ID that you're looking for before you do. Its easy if the user says this is the folder, but if they only have the link you're forced to run User Activity reports to attempt to locate what was created, even harder if you don't know the original user who created the file request and they don't know the folder.

It would be extremely beneficial to be able to make an API call…

  11. Box needs an ability to pause certain file uploads/transfers

When trying to upload files to meet a deadline, I sometimes have large working files using up all my transfer space. The ability to pause or stop certain files from uploading, prioritizing others would be extremely helpful. This would also be beneficial for metered connections while travelling. Thanks.

  12. Add ftp.boxcn.net for Box FTP access from inside China & Hong Kong.

Add ftp.boxcn.net to support Box FTP access.

Our China/Hong Kong users needs to be able to upload large data sets via FTP/TLS. They can't access ftp.box.com. Thanks.

  13. Content Explorer UI File upload limit API option

Need API option in "Content Explorer" UI to increase file upload limit. We have this option available in "Content Uploader" UI. Similarly we need fileLimit option in "Content Explorer" UI too.

Right now we can able to upload only 100 files at a time from "Content Explorer"

  14. Add a captcha to the File Request module.

Add a captcha to the file request module especially when the module is available from the public. This will prevent file upload from spam.

  15. Restructure API endpoints to only use one base URL

We're currently pushing documents from a different system through your APIs using an integration platform.
Here we are uploading files and then assigning metadata templates to them for later use in searches and checking for versions, etc.

The integration platform vendor is taking pay through every baseline URL we add to the system as a connector and then allowing us to basically have as many connections to the same system as we want using that base URL. This is relevant to our challenge.

When utilizing the Box API, the base URL (based on the documentation I've found) for uploading documents…

  17. When importing documents they should keep the date of the document, NOT the date they were uploaded.

When all my documents and files were imported into Box back in the beginning, they all got the same date. That has been horrible to work with. Many documents have similar names but I could always look at the date and know that the more recent one was probably the one I was looking for. But now, I have to look through each document to see if it is the one I want.

Of course, once I have worked on it, it now has today's date and I can tell my newer documents. But now, even after being on Box…

  19. Show a warning message when users attempt to upload folders in a File Request

Frequently we have users attempt to upload folders to use using the file request drag & drop zone feature.

Box does not support the uploading of folders, however it allows users to drag folders into the drag/drop zone.

This gives the appearance that folders are supported, even though they are not. Then when users hit upload they must wait a long time before encountering an error that their upload failed, and it does not tell them why.

Solution: when a user drags a folder into the file request drop zone, immediately show a message that says "Warning: Uploading folders is…

  20. Please display longer filenames in the Uploading upload progress popup window area

By design, it is common for our organization's files to have have 40+ characters in the filenames, and I sometimes need to upload them to Box in large batches. However, I can only see approximately 38 characters of my files' filenames in Box's Upload progress area. If I want to track Box upload progress, or if an upload fails, it is very difficult to decipher which file it is because I can't see the last few characters of the filename.

It appears there is no way to manually extend it to reveal more of the filenames' characters. Can someone please…
