use @mention in the Office suites of software (Words, Excel, PowerPoint)
Currently, we are able to do commenting of the document in Box by using the @mention. But we are not able to do the same when we are editing document in the native Ms Office software eg Words, Excel & PowerPoint. The @mention does not work.
Would like to have the same feature when we are working in the native document?

I would like to see a lock feature implemented so that tenants with the "Box for Microsoft Office" feature enabled can occupy and edit files
Tenants with the "Box for Microsoft Office" feature enabled will not be able to update locked files.
As an alternative, the following procedure may be applicable, but has the following disadvantages■procedure
①Lock the target file
②Download the file and update it locally
③Upload updated files
④Unlock■demerit
Many steps and cumbersome
If another user downloads > edits > uploads a file that is locked, the file will be updated. Therefore, I would like to see a lock function implemented so that files can be occupied and edited like Box tools.

Changing Microsoft label (Sensitivity) in Office after enabling Co-Authoring
After we enabled Co-Authoring, we are not able to change the Microsoft label (Sensitivity) when we open the document e.g. in Word because it is greyed out in Office and Box takes it from the Office file. It would be great if the possibility of changing the Microsoft label (Sensitivity) was enabled.

Fix Version History for Co-Authored Files
Now that co-authoring is available on Office files (which is a great feature!) version history is paying the price. On files that are edited often, the version history is growing out of control which leads to two primary issues:
1 - Since only the last 100 versions of a file are available, the significant increase in versions caused by co-authoring means you may only have a few days worth of version history instead of months or years of history. Consider more version history and/or the ability to specify on a file how often an "accessible" version is saved for viewing…

allow opening of Recent Files in Microsoft app, not just the browser
In "Recent Files" clicking on the three horizontal dots/ellipsis/meatball menu allows you to open Microsoft files in the browser, but not in the app. It'd be nice if you could just open in the app from the Recent Files section. Thanks.

Allow file locking when MS Office Coauthoring is enabled.
Prior to MS Office Coauthoring, I could lock a file in Box, with would allow me to edit it normally, but it would be read only for anyone else.
Since coauthoring, I can not open and edit files that I have locked. Support has let me know that this is just a limitation of coauthoring.
The workaround is to move the file to a folder where only I have editing access, but that would require moving the file around to different locations.
Would love the ability to temporarily lock files again. And if this isn't going to be (or can't…

Ability to create Powerpoint presentation directly from a template
Our company has a template that we should use to create PowerPoint presentations. But there is no way to directly create a powerpoint from a template in Box. The templates can either be saved on OneDrive (which beats the purpose of using Box) or on desktop app (which doesn't sync with Box). Currently I have a few workarounds like copy/edit an existing file or create one on desktop and then save the file on Box. In the second option, you have to click on each folder to find the destination folder (which can be many layers deep). However, if I…

16:9 default slide size for PowerPoint creation from a folder
When we create a PowerPoint from +New button, the plane slides will be shown with Standard, 4:3.
According to the current standard, could you change the default size from 4:3 to 16:9? Or Could we have the setting that we can change the default size by ourselves?2 votes -

Comments in the preview and the word/docx file should be synchronized
Right now, there are two layers of comments when reviewing a word/docx file. If comments are added in the preview, they are not visible when the file is opened in editing/review mode. Furthermore, if comments are marked as resolved in the online editor, the "resolved" status is not persistent if the file is downloaded, edited offline, and uploaded again as a new version.

Edit Locked files when Co-Authoring is turned on by the user trying to edit
Our workflow uses both coauthoring and often requires locking files to prevent others from editing while in use. The new coauthoring with Office locks out the user that is trying to edit the file. It would be nice to be able to use both when needed. Now, if a user tries to lock a file to prevent access to it while editing, that same user that locked the file is prevented from editing it. Or maybe add an additional option to edit and lock.
