Allow External Collaborators to Search Shared Content for Metadata
If an enterprise shares a folder to outside collaborators, and the content of this folder includes thousands of documents with assigned metadata templates, the external collaborator does not have the ability to filter search that shared content based on the metadata applied.

update Jan 2025, the workaround I described earlier no longer works as it used to.
Specific URL will work, but external user is unable to access metadata search panel to modify the search -

If the same external user is given a URL that has the metadata template already specified they can then search on that one metadata template. Is this a workaround or a loophole?
