'Pop-up notification when locked file is expiring' has been merged into this idea

Send a notification regarding document lock/unlock timing

For teams that are actively working on a single document, the lock/unlock feature is nice to prevent version control issues. However, it would be nice to have additional notifications are this feature, namely:

  • "Notify me when this file is unlocked"
  • "Warn me [the person who locked the file] when the file lock is about to expire"
  • "Warn me [the person who locked the file] if I've left the file locked AND inactive for more than X minutes"

Etc.

    I'd even add that it would be good to have one single place to see all files I'm locking - and have the ability to select which ones (or all) I want to unlock.

    To have a notification when a locked file is set to expire and then to have the option to extend the lock or cancel it.
