Preserve File's Metadata after sending it for a signature
Currently, the signed document is created as an new file object so that all the metadata info like comments or task will be gone after signing. We would like to have the ability to keep the info even after signing.

without this feature our ability to use box signature is extremely limited. A lot of workflow tracking occurs through the use of metadata.

It should be highlighted that this feature would support the requirement in doing business where a contract is a legally binding document and all contents of that document, including notes/comments, approvals, changes, metadata, etc. should be retained at all times; not duplicated. Alternatively, the feature could offer a prompt of “ do you want to create a separate document (or copy) to send for signature” for those that want to keep notes internally and not on a legally-binding document. In many cases, creating another document can potentially put the user/group in a position of possible fraud as they are not retaining the original document w/ the relevant content throughout the process.

Current state: when a file is sent for a signature, a new copy of the file is created and all existing metadata are lost.
