Add visual indicators to help users understand if a file is already cached locally on user's PC
We want to make it easier to tell if a file is already cached on a user's machine.

Improve way to update lock status of a file
When a file is locked by a user in Box Drive, users who are looking at the same file at that time via web browser will not noticed the file is locked until they refresh the page. We would like to have the lock status updated in a more dynamic manner without the need for a page refresh

Log configuration
The logging/ caching mechanism could be quite a burden for users who have a relatively small C drive. Users with desktop tools which could generate a high amount of file versions, Drive's log (specially Engine log) would grow extremely fast and might even dry up C drive.
It would be good if there are more options available to suppress/ log rotate/ or even stored Drive's log on a separate disk pre-defined by users.

Allow Excel's Shared Workbook feature to work on Box.
Microsoft Excel has a feature called Shared Workbook that allows multiple users to edit Excel file simultaneously and still migrate each modifications into each others' Excel files.
Box doesn't support this type of feature, but Google and Dropbox supports to notify users on (Office) file modification status to provide similar feature / user experience.
Dropbox:

Versioning on Box Drive
In the Box Web App, you can view different versions of a single file, see what changes were made and if needed, revert back to previous version of a file. We'd like for this feature to be available on Box Drive as well.

Error notification of Box Drive should be restricted only be related to files which the user has accessed or edited before.
Or implement a new setting. Or implement a new setting to switch on/off to receive the error notifications.

Ability to save file without putting filename extension in the filename field
In the save-as window, there is "Save as type" pull-down menu on "Save to Box" window, where you can select xlsx, csv, etc (for excel). However, Box for Office sometimes returns error if you don't input extension on the filename field. Shouldn't Box for Office be able to determine file format from the pull down menu?

Hide/Turnoff Box Drive Error message
With Box Drive, users are getting many error messages pertaining to incompatible file names. Users would like the ability to prevent continued notification since most of these files do not below to them. Possibly could be handled with a [Dont show again] or [Remove from alerts] check box
11 votesYou can disable notifications through OS controls for Box Drive. That being said, we are working on improving error handling in Drive to address the root problems and hopefully lead you to disabling notifications as they are an important part of our UX!
