Thanks for your note! This does not happen unless you turn on the setting.

  2. Grey out "Require passcode" option when Enterprise requires a passcode.

It may make for a better UX if, when the Enterprise requires a passcode for the mobile app, the option was greyed out and unable to be toggled.

As it stands, when you turn it off, it prompts you to create a passcode and then turns back on.

Thank you for the feedback! This change is a low priority when compared to some of our other asks.

  3. Prevent personal email clients from being opened in Box for EMM via 'Email Link' option

The 'Email Link' functionality in Box for EMM, used when emailing a shared link, directly prompts the user for email clients recognized on the device (e.g. default email client and Gmail). We would like to be able to restrict Box for EMM from presenting the option of the personal email client.

Or, as a fallback, restrict the 'Email Link' option entirely, as it serves as a security loophole for our team.

There is no method for the Box mobile app to distinguish between a personal and business email address.

Even if we were able to remove the email functionality, which many customers use, end users would still be able to copy the shared link and paste it within their desired email client.

The shared link itself should be where proper security is enforced. These restrictions can be managed through the Admin Console.

There is currently a select all button in the lower left of the screen.

  5. Prompt to accept TOS for external users

    Scenario:

An enterprise requires custom TOS to be accepted. If those TOS change, external users no longer see the folders they had access to from that company. They do not receive a message that explains why.
It would be helpful if they were directed to log in via computer and accept Terms of Service.

There are no APIs available for the mobile apps to perform TOS functionality.

  7. Preview in icon rather than the normal file type icon display

We uses several files, often with long naming conventions, within folders. We generally access these files through iPads while working remotely.

Preview often does not load for all of our files so we would like to have the file type icon that normally is next to the file name be a small preview of the file. This would allow our agents to quickly see a glimpse of the file before having to load the preview for all of the files.

The loading time for the file and folder tree would cause massive performance issues if they were thumbnail views. That being said, we may explore alternative methods to resolving the long file name issue.

  9. Ability to set a custom attribute in the Box Capture application

We would like the ability to set an attribute in the Box Capture application to automatically name photos with a desired store name.

For example, rather than automatically name the photo 2016-05-23_001.jpg, we would like to have the option to set the default name via an attribute or prefix that would enable them to more easily identify, search on, and organize them.

As an example they would like the option in the Box Capture application to be able to Set Photo Name Prefix to "Boise" so that the resulting photos would be saved to Box as: Boise2016-05-23001.jpg; Boise…

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll be exploring a better way of providing value in the naming convention of repeated saving actions within a session.

  10. Enhance document capturing capabilities with our mobile app

Add OCR, cropping, image stabilizer etc.

If you are logged out of the Box app, you will have to re-save all your content for offline.

  15. In App Alert that user's password is expired

We would like an in app alert or some email notification that the password has to be reset in order to continue using the app (Box Capture).

Our users lose work or have all the items queued when offline, and when the password is enforced to be reset, they lose all their work.

  19. Support complex passcodes in Box for EMM

We would like to enforce complex passcodes in Box for EMM to meet encryption requirements for mobile apps

  20. Add an internal validation link for EMM instances

Current state: once an EMM instance has been set up, the IC/CSM sends the public ID to the customer. The admin is then responsible for applying the public ID and validating that it works.

Request: Add a validation link for instances with an API URL, username, and password for the CSM to validate that the credentials are accurate, and provide an accurate error message (e.g. username/password invalid).

Calls will not work without management IDs sent from valid devices.

We’d have to work with the EMM providers on a workaround, however there would be security concerns with the ability to successfully ping an EMM server without a managed device.
