Document Relationships
It would be great if document relationships can be created. E.g Email and their corresponding attachments. Saving Primary document and being able to relate two or more others as linked.

Ability to customize/configure the location of the shortcut to Box Drive folder on Windows.
We would like to have the ability to customize the location of the shortcut to Box Drive folder on Windows or to disable its creation.
Right now, the creation of the shortcut cannot be disabled or customized (just as the cache location cannot be customised), and it's always created under c:\users\username\desktop. This is not ideal for users who are not allowed access to userprofile folder.4 votes -

Unify move and copy behavior between BoxDrive and the Web browser.
There is a detrimental effect caused by the fact that BoxDrive and the Web browser have different specifications for the operation of "move and copy," which is a basic operation of Box (it is actually upload and download).
In particular, the fact that Shield's Access Policy and Classification Labels "maintain the original labels when moved and copied" is a major reason to use that feature.
However, BoxDrive does not maintain labels, which does not lead to enhanced security or control of usage.
Since there are many users who use BoxDrive as their main application, we would like to see the…43 votesIt's working as designed.

Admin-level alert notification on certain Box Drive permission errors
Users can create folders in Box Drive at the root level. In a closed folder taxonomy, the folder does not sync and fails with permission and/or problem item errors. If a user does not address the notification (or notifications are disabled), users can continue to create content in the unsynced folders. Icon overlays are also not reliable, so this will not be discovered until the content is lost due to hardware failure or software/OS reload. Consider alerting admins of these issues via the event stream or Shield-type alerts to prevent data loss, or disabling the creation of folders this way.

Syncing files and having them download to devices automatically
Create a setting in Box Drive so that files, once updated, automatically sync and download to all devices for use offline. Now, we have to designate each folder for "use offline." Why not have a setting that allows us to make that the default (so it functions like Box Sync)? As it now stands, I'd have to know in advance which files I might use on a flight, if I'm traveling with a different computer. That's a pain.

User logged in local value
Feature Request: A local value that can be read to determine if a user is logged into Box Drive.
This would be useful for launching custom workflows depending on if the user is logged in or not.

bulk filename change
Add a “bulk change” features, such as:
For all files edited after 1/1/2011 in "Customers" folder,
if the filename begins with “11.” “12.” “22.” “23.” etc.,
then change filename to begin with “2011.” “2012.” “2022.” “2023.” etc.2 votes -
Make an option to turn off the warning "Confirm Removal From This Mac"
I drag-and-drop files onto Box all day long, and every file I move I get the warning "Confirm Removal From This Mac". It would be nice to have the option to turn this warning off.

Ability to save Sort preference
Hello! I'd like to be able to save a sort preference for all my folders for the team. So if I number the folders they always appear in name, ascending order. Instead each time you enter a folder you have to sort it.

Lack of clear notification of whether BoxDrive is syncing or not
There should be a clear icon in the Finder AND in the BoxDrive top menu icon clearly showing whether syncing is on or off. Support told em the only way to know if files are correctly syncing is to look at the files in the Finder and if there are NO ICONS then it's working. The lack of something is not a reasonable way to identify is something is working correctly. PLEASE add a symbol that shows the synching status that is easy to confirm!!

I would like to see functionality added to the terminate_sessions API to delete cache information.
When an administrator deletes BoxDrive session information, the cache remains.
Even if an administrator deletes BoxDrive session information using the terminatesessions API, the cache will remain on the user side because this API is different from normal logoff.
In this situation, even if the user loses the authority to handle the data, the data remains at hand, which may cause a security incident by a malicious user.
Therefore, we would like to add a function to delete cache information when the terminatesessions API is executed.

View right holder to download the watermarked files from box drive.
that way, people with view right do not need to go box.com website and download each file.
+ it will be great if they could download including folder trees with watermarked files(Pdf, ppt, excel etc).

Easier access to Box.com versus local box folder from the box menu
I use a mac. To go to a folder, I can click the box icon on my menu bar and there is the folder icon. But, to go to box notes (very popular with my team) or box.com, I must click down into the box settings. Please bring box.com up to the level of the box folder in your menu.

Viewing and Downloading EPUB files
As outlined in Case # 2783413
We were unable to share an link to an EPUB which had watermarking embedded in the file.
Workarounds included zipping up the EPUB first.
It would be wonderful to get full EPUB support where you can view the EPUB (ie see the cover image, and even the contents of the EPUB book and allow anyone with the link to download the file.As was discovered in the case mentioned above, it turns out some EPUBs can at least be downloaded if they didn't contain watermarking. Ability to set an optional time for lock files .
I want to set the lock time to any desired time, not preset such as 5 minutes or 15 minutes.

Show File Quantity in Grid Mode
When looking at your folders in grid mode, it would be nice to see the quantity of files in the folder without having to open the folder and select all files or going into list mode. I think it used to be like this but last time I looked I couldn't see the file quantities and it was a cumbersome process for me to figure out the quantity.

Prevent items with restricted movement from being moved on the Box Drive display
If "Do not allow ownership of content to be transfered to external users" is enabled in the tenant settings, content cannot be moved to external tenants by users other than the administrator.
However, when content is moved in Box Drive, although it is not actually moved, it appears on the display as if it is stored in the destination folder, and it does not return to the original folder until the user logs out/logs back in to Box Drive.

Allow Users to 'Remove' all files from their BOX Drive as a right-click command
It would be nice, instead of logging out of BOX Drive on my personal computer to 'remove' all files on my personal device (so anything that was cached or downloaded). Instead of having to 'log out' of the BOX drive app.
