SFTP support

Hello!
We're excited to let you know that we're currently actively working on SFTP implementation at Box. The initial version will be modeled after our trusted FTPS server, but we're eager to improve the experience of using it, so if you happen to have suggestions or ideas we should take into consideration – whether that involves authentication, performance, compatibility or any other matter, do not shy away from letting us know and get in touch.
Thanks in advance and speak soon.

SFTP would enable Box to become the one stop solution.
FTPS and FTP are insecure and unacceptable to pretty much every client hence the business requirement to invest in expensive SFTP solutions.

This would be amazing, there would need to be some considerations about how we have have protected data areas and external user management for accounts as well as making available a variety of authentication mechanisms.
SFTP is so long in the tooth that the management needs to sit comfortably alongside enterprise storage now while delivering the data security for restricted workflows and the ability to build in PGP encrypted workflows.

We need SFTP as Box only supports FTPS and our third party app doesn't support FTPS. Therefore, I will have to switch to another solution if Box cannot support SFTP. It is very strange that Box supported FTP but not SFTP up to this point and only supports FTPS as a secure FTP route.

Would be great to add support for SFTP. We have use cases with third-party providers that only support SFTP to share documents.
Looking back at how old this thread is, would be great to have a definitive answer to support this important feature.
Thank you.

Any changes to the roadmap for SFTP in Box?

We have had to purchase sftp as a service due to this limitation of BOX only supporting FTP, it would be incredibly helpful for our financial integrations to have sftp supported in BOX.

Who even uses FTPS? SFTP with public key auth is the industry standard in business automation. I just had to build a custom solution for a customer who wants files automatically uploaded into Box because no SFTP. And they had to give me a shared password to do it with because no public key auth. As others have already said, this is hard to believe.

sFTP is basic one and this is mandatory feature all the products should have. I really don't understand for not giving sFTP protocol.

A product without SFTP support would cripple normal backend business operations for healthcare vertical. This thread open since 2016. Wow!

Hard to take Box seriously as an enterprise cross platform solution without a *nix client with encryption support or SFTP/SCP support.

This would be REALLY nice. Would allow us to archive client reports seamlessly. Currently the integration with our reporting software (Orion) only allows for SFTP so it won't work Box.

This is a major issue for us SFTP, which is the standard we’d prefer to support as not having it is an issue for many of our partners

would be nice.. especially if Box is trying to be the FTP replacement solution. SFTP is the most common FTP for regulated industries.
