Add option for users to customize the location of their "Box" folder

This was delivered in Box Drive v2.3! You can view more details on this feature here: https://community.box.com/t5/Deploying-Managing-Box-Drive/Configuring-the-Default-Box-Drive-Folder-Location/ta-p/66248

Agree with previous comments. I have a smaller SSD drive housing my OS and a larger data drive for storing files as much as possible. It seems like Box is willfully misinterpreting the feature request to close out an easier-to-fix issue.
I'm trying to find an alternative to Dropbox and both SpiderOak and Box both suffer from this problem and it looks like it's been raised with both of them years ago without any improvement.
I guess it's not a big enough "market" to bother fixing the problem for.
For anyone that's interested, you can vote on the more specifically definted issue here:

This HAS NOT BEEN DELIVERED. The access point where files are accessed has been changed (essentially a supercharged shortcut), but we STILL do not have the ability to change where the files are actually stored. They are still stored in the C: drive, even if you put the access point on a different drive.
The point of this feature is to allow users to store files on a different drive than the main drive, not where they are accessed. -

This only allows the mount point to be changed, not the actual location of the Box folder. I wouldn't regard this as being "delivered." I'm certain what was actually being requested was the ability to move the location of the data itself (the cache files), as this is what is consuming space on the main system drive, causing issues for so many people. Please allow us the ability to define where these cache files are stored, rather than forcing it to be on the main system drive. Thanks!

To be REALLY clear. This is the location for the Box Drive mountpoint, not the location of the Box cache (what actually consumes some space).

Change default install process, to allow person installing software option to change location of install. Some organizations prevent direct access to C: drive by person installing file, preventing installation. Most programs I install give me the option to choose where it will be installed. Why not Box?

This isn't delivered. You can't move to external drive.

This shows delivered, but it only solves the issue of user-linked file... Not the much more prevalent issue of computers set up with SSD as main OS drive, and large drive as second HHD... In this case box drive folder location (including actual file storage) needs to be set to 2nd HHD.

By January 2019, we cannot choose location of "Box" folder. It is hard to believe that "Box drive" lacks so basic functionality in 2019.

Currently it defaults to c:\users\<username>\Box, which works for most folks. However, some users use files with links (think CAD, Excel, InDesign), and having a per-user path causes broken links. It would be great if we could either choose the folder path at install or have the ability to change it at will.

Excel files which are referring to other Excel files, Access DB like .mdb files, and image files which are referred by some internal portal sites etc. can't be moved to Box because they don't work in Box.
