Hide folders from Box Drive
hide a set of folders from box drive while leaving them available on Box for office and Box online

Few of our customers requested the ability to hide folders as they hold sensitive information that is visible anytime they open Box. This is a critical breach for them from a business point as they can display anything to customers if they can be exposed to other customers names, etc.

Even though this is the point of Box Drive, to show you all of what you have on the web, I agree. Most users only have 4-5 folders actually synced out of the 100+ folders they are collaborators on. It's pretty annoying to have all that noise show on their devices, especially if they only go into some of those folders once a year. God I hope Box sync never goes away.

Another use case for Hiding folders specifically from Box Drive, though it might be useful to hide them in the web interface as well is "Administratively Shared directories".
For example we have a folder of Support Ticket information, you don't want to confuse employees with having that show up in Box drive, but you do want to be able to access it for a script. You are having an employee run a logging script that captures information to the local drive. To ease data collection you could have the script capture it's logs to Box Drive. As a side effect this could in some way be used to mirror favorites into Box Drive?

I agree with the comments below. People have added me to folders that I need to access to, but often times once a year. I use 2 folders on a weekly/daily basis and it is too tedious to sift through 20 other folders to access them.
PLEASE change this!!! Either Hide/Show or be able to prioritize the folders by use.

This is a MUST. Even after removing myself as a collaborator from folders, I'm STILL seeing them (and can even access them) from my PC with Box Drive. I can't imagine that is intended behavior. This would mean that even if I remove someone else as a collaborator, they'd still be able to access my Box files if they'd installed Box Drive beforehand?

I am researching this topic for my boss. He recently switched from Sync to Drive. He is always having issues with hard drive space on his laptop. He only wants access to a few folders via Box Drive. The ability to pick and choose folders would be very helpful. He can always get additional files through Box.com.
