Ability to read the EXIF data in the photos that are uploaded
I need Box to read the EXIF data in the photos I upload. Having access to that would make categorizing and finding assets infinitely easier. If I could sort by the metadata already included with an image file I would be able to find by date, location, resolution, etc automatically. A default metadata template should be created that matches that of EXIF data so that it automatically loads. You could then find the images you want by searching the EXIF data then could apply other metadata to add more relevance.

This is currently under review for inclusion in our roadmap for 2026. We will update the status of this request toward the end of 2025 when our review is finalized.

I would like to extend the ability to read metadata for image files to IPTC, XMP and DCMI headers.

This ability is highly demanding one. Please allow us to see EXIF data on file property on Box.
