  1. Remove Platform App Change Approval Requirement & Improve SDK/API support

    I currently have a production issue (all key functionality is severely impaired, on par with an outage) as a result of failed API calls and because changing App Platform settings requires the approval of a Box Enterprise Admin review and approval. There is no ETA on how long this will take: days, weeks, months? Other community posts echo this concern and there were no concrete answers provided.   3. Allow Device Pinning for web

    Per the documentation, it appears that we should be able to enable Device Pinning for Box.com via web client:

    However, despite the above documentation, there are only options to enforce Device Pinning for the mobile, tablet, and sync applications:

    Using sync instead of web is also not a viable alternative, as it has been sunset, with an EOL of December 2026:

    Notably, its replacement, Box Drive, is also not listed under Device Pinning.

  4. Give the Box Admin the ability to clone (mirror) an existing user's access when adding a new user to Box.

    The goal is to streamline user provisioning by allowing Box Admins to replicate the permissions and folder access of an existing user when creating and adding a new user to Box.

    This eliminates manual steps and ensures consistency in access control.

    Why It’s Valuable?

    Efficiency: Admins often need to onboard users with similar roles or responsibilities. Instead of manually assigning folders and permissions, cloning saves time.

    Consistency: Reduces human error by ensuring the new user has identical access as the reference user.

    Scalability: Ideal for large organizations where teams share common folder structures.

  5. Add specific error message for managed users whose domain is owned by another tenant

    When an admin attempts to add a managed user whose email domain is already registered to another tenant, the system should display a specific error message explaining the reason.

    Currently, the error message only states “1 user cannot be added,” which provides no context and makes it difficult for admins to understand what went wrong or how to resolve the issue.

  7. Request for the ability to remove from the Suppression List via API

    If a welcome message is sent before the mailbox creation is complete, it will be added to the Suppression List as an invalid email address.
    However, I don't know which email address was added to the suppression list.
    In addition, only one item can be removed from the suppression list.
    In addition, you can only remove one email address from the suppression list at a time.
    I would like to be able to remove from the suppression list via API.

  8. Forced termination of suspicious outbound collaboration

    We request implementation of a method for administrators to forcibly cancel invitations received by users under their management.

    While outbound collaboration in Box is free and convenient, it is also highly dangerous.
    It can be exploited by attackers seeking to misplace files or spread malicious files by sending invitations, or by employees planning to leave who receive invitations from their personal accounts to extract information.

    While inbound collaboration allows logging, outbound collaboration does not even permit this, leaving administrators virtually powerless.

    I should be able to view emails on my suppression list. I appreciate the ability to remove addresses from it myself, but not being able to see which email addresses you are blocking creates situations wherein I do not know someone isn't getting mail until after they have missed at least one message.

    A feature has been released for integrated apps that allows you to partially enable them by specifying groups or users, but we would like a similar feature for custom apps.

    If the Admin Console [Shared Link Permissions] is set to type "File: Can view and download" and type "Box Notes: Can view and edit",
    Depending on where you create a Box Notes shared link, the settings and permissions displayed do not match.This is the current specification.

    Created a shared link from a file list: The permission "View only" is displayed because the type is "File", but it can be edited.
    Creating a shared link from the Box Notes share button: The "Can edit" permission is displayed to refer to the type "Box Notes".

    I want to know if there is a feature to monitor the restoration progress from the management console when restoring data in bulk from the trash. Also, I would like a feature to track the progress of bulk data deletion from a folder from the management console.

  14. User Offboarding (File/Folder Moves)

    I’d like to suggest an improvement to the user offboarding process. When we delete a user, it would be very helpful to have more granular control over where that user’s files and folders are moved within the tenant. This way we can choose someone and then maybe a subfolder they want the data placed in.

    Specifically, having the option to:
    - Choose the destination folder for the disabled user’s content.
    - Include checkbox option to include trash bin contents along with the rest of their files.

    This would make the offboarding process more efficient and ensure nothing is overlooked.

  15. External Users sortable columns and bulk deletion based on last active date

    Box makes it easier thru the Admin console GUI in the near future.
    For External Users a sortable column of “Last Active” and then bulk deletion is needed in the Admin GUI.

    It would also be nice to have the option in Security to set a threshold like 90 days inactive for External Users before auto-delete to manage this automatically going forward.

  16. Large Folder Operations dashboard with status, ETA, rollback, and reporting

    Requesting a centralized Large Folder Operations Dashboard in the Box Admin Console or via API to improve visibility and control over major content transfers.

    During a large folder ownership change, an unexpected behavior occurred where ownership polling and job sequencing did not reflect the actual state of completion. This led to a move propagating recursively from an empty child folder to an inherited, multi-million-object parent folder.

    A built-in dashboard would provide transparency into large operations and prevent this class of issue from occurring silently.

  17. In the Enterprise settings for device protection, add the global IP address used during client connection to the device trust requirements.

    I would like to add the global IP address that the client connects to as a target in the device trust requirements of the policies that can be set in the Enterprise settings for device protection. Currently, it is possible to apply for allowed IP addresses individually on a tenant basis, but it is not feasible to respond appropriately each time. By making it possible to set this as an item in this function, it will be possible to respond quickly and control the target in a limited manner, thereby improving operational management convenience and enhancing security. Please consider this.

  19. MFA timeout settings for external collaborators

    The following features currently only have settings that can be applied to managed users:
    However, in order to strengthen security, we believe that limiting the scope of application to managed users is insufficient.
    Please apply this setting to external collaborators as well (especially those with free accounts).

    For example, if the requirements are not met, the collaboration status will be "pending."

  20. Provide a Box Admin the Ability to Bulk Uncheck "Automatically accept incoming collaborations " for All Users

    Please provide a Box Admin the ability to bulk uncheck "Automatically accept incoming collaborations" for all users. This is currently only under Sharing in a user's Account Settings (screenshot provided) and must either be unchecked by each individual user or one-by-one by a Box Admin.

    Having the option to bulk uncheck this setting in the Admin Console will provide organizations the ability to more easily address this important security gap enterprise wide.
