  2. Open Shared Link Controls: Add "Default" option for 'download' permissions on Shared Links

    Example: Disable 'download' permissions on all shared links by default, but allow users to re-enable 'download' permissions on a link-by-link basis.

    Allow admins to default the "Let link viewers" option in Content & Sharing in Enterprise Settings. Currently we can restrict or allow this feature, but we cannot set the default option like we can we shared link access levels.

  3. Users with viewer permissions can't access watermarked files too big to preview

    When a collaborator has Viewer permissions and downloads a watermarked file that is too large for Preview, the resulting download only shows the Preview error message with watermarking. This means that the Viewer collaborator cannot preview the file in the browser or even download a viewable copy.

    In our specific case, the issue occurs with Excel Spreadsheets. The spreadsheet will contain more rows/columns/sheets than are capable of previewing in the browser.

    This may be expected behavior, but we would like to be able to collaborate with Viewers while still leveraging the Watermarking feature.

  5. SSO auto-provisioning via mobile

    We're running into an issue with their largely mobile workforce around SSO auto-provisioning via mobile. There is a pretty significant population of users who have attempted to log in for the first time via the Box for EMM app without having previously created a managed user account through the web app.

  6. Enterprise whitelist to apply "internal" collaboration settings

    Our parent company has a large number of subsidiaries that have their own unique EIDs for a number of reasons (branding, administration, SSO settings). We also have extremely locked down external collaboration settings and as such are requesting the ability to have a whitelist of other Box enterprises that could be subject to the internal collaboration settings (e.g. no timeout on collaboration).

    We are not likely to implement this. From a customer experience perspective, it would be difficult to explain to companies not in this situation why another enterprise can enforce different collaboration settings on their users.

  7. More option for IP whitelisting

    Currently, there are 2 options for IP whitelisting which are "webapp only" and "all endpoints". Is it possible to switch "API" as new option? I think "webapp only", "webapp+API", and "all endpoints" are enough options.

    There are many enterprises using cloud-based IDP like Azure AD, Okta and Centrify which can implement Auto Provisioning/De-Provisioning using Box API. When "all endpoints" is set, IdP's Auto Provisioning/De-Provisioning fails because they use Box API. Some enterprises are choosing "all endpoint" in Japan for their security reason, so I would appreciate if you could consider this request seriously.

    There are multiple asks captured here.
    We now provide admins self serve options to rotate their certs. We will further improve SSO setup options over the coming quarters. Besides these 2, we don’t have other enhancements planned in this area.

  10. Include IP address in watermark (along with email address)

    We want the ability to see IP address, along with the email address, on a watermarked file. IP address may appear if there is no email/Box login, but they would prefer if the IP address wasn't dropped when there is an e-mail address present.

    Separate permissions for when a user accesses Box internally and externally. For example, User has Editor permissions internally, same User has Preview only externally.

  12. Add Collaboration Blacklisting

    The ability to make a blacklist of collaborations (perhaps via domain) to prevent against the inbound or outbound collaboration with a certain (or set) of domains.

    The current collaboration whitelist capabilities do not permit for blacklisting -- they only allow for whitelisting.

  13. Reduce increase in file size when watermarking content

    It is expected behavior that watermarking files will convert files to pdf upon download (if the user is not a collaborator) and greatly increase the file size.

  17. Enable "Login with Box Account" Functionality similar to Twitter & Google Accounts

    Add the ability to enable their users to log in with their Box account by providing a button alongside the Google and Twitter buttons within our application.

    While it is true that this can be done with standard OAuth, it is a bit awkward and clunky so isn't a great developer or user experience. We are looking for something similar to the SDK and tools offered by companies like Google.

  18. Dynamic access permissions to content based on location/device/network etc.

    Based on certain factors, a user will have Editor level permissions on content from their work computer in their office, but accessing Box from their mobile device at home grants them only Viewer level permissions
