1. About BoxDrive upload error notification messages

   Regarding the desktop notification method when a BoxDrive upload error occurs,
   From version 2.41 onwards, a message similar to a Windows notification may be displayed.
   I would like each user to be able to set whether or not to display the message.

   We would like to request an improvement in the synchronization speed between Box Web UI and BoxDrive so that they can be synchronized within 5 seconds.

3. Disable offline access for specific folder

   We would like to have a feature to disable Box Drive offline access for specific folders. Our users try to download the whole department folders and sensitive folders without realizing it. This is causing issues with disk space and compliance and there is no way to control this at the folder level, as Editor will have default access to download all files offline.

4. I want to set the file update interval to every 5 seconds.

   Box Drive accesses the BOX servers every second, so 10 million access logs are logged per month. To control this, we would like to be able to set the update time of files and folders.

5. Direct transfer tool on macOS from connected NAS to Box online, bypassing the local drive cache

   Our scenario is a NAS with 80TB worth of data on it. Mac-only environment.

   I know about the standalone transfer tool available on Windows, but this is no option for our macOS environment.

   Box Shuttle (cloud) is not an option to get this data onto Box, either as it can't connect to our NAS direclty (and it being in offline network segment).

   Uploading in 1 go from the web portal fails miserably.

   Drag'n'drop from NAS to connected Box Drive client fills up disk space beyond capacity.

   Copying files from my NAS to Box Drive requires a tedious, manual process due to limited internal storage (1TB). I have to copy files in chunks, wait for each upload to complete (without any real overview or confirmation of progress), log out of Box Drive to clear the cache (no other reliable way implemented), log back in, and then repeat the process, carefully tracking my progress. This is extremely inefficient and quickly gets old.

   A direct upload tool for macOS, bypassing local Box Drive cache, with full and uptodate status reporting would save my day.

6. Fix "missing" files bug in Box Drive

   Please fix the "missing" files bug with Box Drive which has been an issue for years. I'm honestly getting tired of having to tell my users to log out and log back in to clear app cache to fix the issue. It keeps happening after updates. I don't understand why this is so unreliable.

7. Avoid accidental edits! Set local OS ReadOnly flag initially on ALL Box Drive files; When User Clears local RO, auto-Lock file for editing!

   Currently a user can very easily ACCIDENTALLY change a file locally in Box Drive without locking. This can be completely avoided by this:

   EVERY file in Box Drive should initially have local OS (e.g. Windows) "Read-only" attribute set. If and when the user explicitly Clears/Unsets the Windows Read-only attribute, e.g. in Windows Explorer (or chooses "Lock File For Editing in Box Drive" from context menu), Box Drive shall AUTOMATICALLY Lock it in Box, ideally only allowing local editing within Box Drive. There could be a pop up message like "File Locked for editing in Box Drive; be sure to Unlock (or set Read-only attribute) when done editing (or do so Now if Locking was unintentional)."

   When done editing, of course they must either choose "Unlock File", or perhaps alternatively simply set the local Read-only attribute again which shall automatically Unlock the file in Box.

9. Explorer

   When you open a folder in Explorer format and use BackSpace to go back from where you opened it, the opened folder will be hidden from view in the reduced window. If there are only a few displayed items when you return, there is no problem because you can see everything, but if there are a lot of files and folders (more than can be displayed in the reduced window), some of the objects visible in the window will be displayed. , it goes out of its way to be one of the topmost files and folders. why? 10. Box Drive performance improvement request when using VDI

    The VDI is experiencing operational delays when using Box Drive, and this is affecting our business.
    It was found that the delay was caused by a large number of disk I/Os.
    We checked the Box Drive logs and found that Box was reflecting 1,000 to 2,000 operation logs on Box to each user every morning.
    Since the above operations occur simultaneously for all users, there is a large load on the infrastructure.

13. Uploading files with exactly the same hash value on BoxDrive should not be recorded as a 'copy' in the user activity report

    If I upload a new file on Box Drive and then upload the same file (with the same hash value) again, the server copies the first uploaded file to reduce load and the user activity report records it as a copy. Even if these two file names are different!
    In this case, if I have a workflow triggered by 'upload' in Box Relay, the trigger may not work because the event is considered a copy.
    This behaviour is a limitation of the product specification, but I would like a fix so that it is treated as an upload.

14. Sometimes when working with AutoCAD files, the external references in the CAD files lose their path.

18. Box Online Only

    Admins should be able to decide which groups of users are allowed to use Box Drive versus Box online only. Box Online only would increase security in that users would not be able to download files and would be forced to edit/view files in browser only. This helps tremendously in securing data that contractors need to access.

    In the Webapp you are able to see who has locked a file, in Drive you cannot see this unless you navigate to the web. Heavy Drive users/customers require this information in the Drive UI
