1. Request for improvement of mail upload function

   I found a problem with the current mail upload function, so I would like Box to improve it.

   [Request (1): Adding Management Console and Folder Settings]
   Users with Editor permission can change the settings of the folder's mail upload function.
   However, I would like to add the ability to restrict this permission to owners and co-owners to the administrative console and the settings for each folder.

   If you click "Allow uploads to this folder via email" about the mail upload function of the folder, the URL for the mail upload will be issued immediately and the setting will be saved, but if you make an operation by mistake, you cannot return to the original URL, so I would like you to improve it as follows.

   I would like you to provide me with a way to check the log (who made what changes and when) when users change their mail upload settings for a specific folder. I can't find out who changed my mail upload settings at this time.

   [Request (4) Behavior when sending mail to a non-existent mail upload URL]
   If the user accidentally changes the URL for the mail upload, the previous URL is invalidated. If you send the mail upload function using the previous URL, the following mail will be sent from Box.

   Unable to process mail request

   Your attempt to email file (s) into 'a folder' was not successful.

   From this email, the user knows that the upload failed but does not know to which folder the upload failed. By including the information about the folder in this mail, the user can know which folder the mail upload failed, so please add that information.

   [Background to the Request for Improvement]
   ・Users upload faxes that arrive at the multifunction device as e-mail attachments to the fax folder of Box using the mail upload function.
   ・Since each user has to move or delete the uploaded files, the user who collaborated with Box's fax folder has been granted the rights of an editor.
   ・Each user is optionally configured to receive an email notification when a file is uploaded to the Box fax folder.

   By performing the above setting, the paper ejection of the fax is eliminated, and the PDF is directly ejected into the Box and the reception notification is received. Fax reception can be confirmed even on different floors and when teleworking, so printing costs are not incurred, loss is prevented, and there is no need to scan later.

   However, a user with Editor rights accidentally clicked "Allow uploads to this folder via email" in the folder settings and reissued the URL for the mail upload.

   As a result, files uploaded to the previous URL were lost. In addition, since it was not possible to check which folder and when the setting was changed in the report, etc., it took a lot of effort to identify the folder. This is how the request for improvement came about. We are currently taking measures by increasing backup methods.

   Please consider it in order to make it simple and safe.

2. More specific error messages when uploads fail

   When manually uploading a new version of a file, I received a "Some Uploads Fail" message. Only later did I see it was because there was another file of the same name in the folder. The error message should be more specific to this problem.

4. Increase Upload File Size Limit

   Currently, the Upload File Size Limit for Enterprise Plus is 150 GB. The ask is to increase this upload limit, ideally up to 1 TB.

5. I want to set conditions for files in File Request

   I want to limit the types of files that can be received by checking file extensions (Word, Excel, Power Point, PDF, image, video, audio files, etc.)
   I want to be able to set a single file size limit.

6. File Request URL Parameters

   It would be awesome to be able to pre-populate the metadata fields via URL parameters. This is particularly useful when sending the request to clients and wanting to make it as easy as possible for them to upload their documents. Some other functions along with that which would be nice are.

   1. Pre-fill metadata (all metadata types) from URL parameters
   2. Disable metadata field when it is pre-filled by URL
   3. Hide metadata field when it is pre-filled

7. File size limits for File Request uploads

   We have tried using the File Request to encourage our supply chain to upload files directly to our filing system on Box instead of using unathorised file transfer services, however it frequently fails due to file size. I note in the FAQ that the maximum file upload size is limited by that permitted by the content submitter - it would be more useful if the file upload size was based by that permitted by our account as the organisation requesting the file. As the File Request service also doesn't permit uploading of folders, this often means our content submitters have to upload a zip file which may exceed the file size permitted for their account, discouraging them from using it.

8. [File Request] cascade feature to allow granular uploading of files to a folder structure / subfolders.

The "Submit Files" page does not provide any context regarding the linked folder name without having to manually input this, and doesn't provide subfolders to allow the user to drill down and upload files into the subfolder of which they choose (with breadcrumbs of course to navigate back to the root folder share via the File Request URL. Currently users have to create a File Request per folder or invite users in to the parent folder as a "Previewer Uploader" in order to upload.

   Alternatively, I'd just like to see "Share Link" functionality to be enhanced to allow for an option to "Can view, upload and download" since this already supports subfolder drill-down capabilities.

9. Ability to sort bookmarks with other files (e.g., alphabetically)

   Please allow links/bookmarks within folders to be sorted (e.g., alphabetically) and not stuck to the end of the list. This would make it easier to find items that are dated; I, for example, have all my items dated, and it's super inconvenient to have the bookmarks located separately/out of order within my folders.

11. Can't Use Buttons "Under" Green Update Box

    Please fix this annoying issue. Currently when I upload a document or rename something, a green update box pops up at the top of my screen. When that confirmation happens, I'm not able to click on anything to the direct left or right of it (i.e. my search bar, more options sometimes, etc.) until it goes away or I specifically click the 'x'. It's like everything is "behind" the update box, and it gets a bit annoying when I'm renaming or uploading several things.

    Ideally I'd like to be able to use the buttons/features to the left and right of the update box while it's still on the screen so I don't have to either wait or click 'x'.

    Please fix this annoying issue. Currently when I upload a document or rename something, a green update box pops up at the top of my screen. 12. Box File Request - Limit number of files and/or file type for upload zones

    When creating a file request for a folder, we would like to have the ability to limit the number of files able to be uploaded in an upload zone from the standard 500 uploads. It would also be ideal to limit the type of files that are able to be uploaded. For example, if we wanted a customer to upload document x in pdf format, we could use these limitations to ensure they upload in the correct format and all in one file, instead of uploading 20/30 png photos of the document we request. While we can provide guidelines on how/what to upload in the upload zone description, we cannot enforce these guidelines, and we can only trust the customer to upload in the correct format.

    A single file request collects multiple files which all end up in the same folder from many users. There is no automated way to sort this content e.g. In a case where 500 files are submitted. Can a method to automatically sort this be created e.g. upload zones sending content into separate sub-folders or Relay moving groups of content based on metadata into new folders created upon upload

    a possible solution would be to implement an 'OPTIONS' call to the URL to return a throw-away bearer token and the folder id so that the existing file upload API calls can be used.

16. Universal and Individual Upload Pause and Throttle

    Problem: I'm uploading a lot of relatively large files. The urgency for these is low, but it will take a long time to upload. During this time, I have smaller high priority files to send to a client for approval. However, uploading these smaller, but more important files using a different service is extremely slow. A 30 second upload becomes a 10-minute upload.

    Solution: Have individualized pause buttons on each uploading item AS WELL AS a universal pause on uploads. Also, a throttle to limit it from using all of the bandwidth would be nice, too. Please also make this functionality available when using the finder Box background app - perhaps available through the right click context menu where other box functions are. A toggle between "Pause uploads" and "Resume uploads". Maybe with a little icon to indicate whether it's currently paused or active.
