Any update on this increase max file size?

How is that going? I have customers trying to choose between services, and this would be a game changer.

We had a recent legal issue and the attorneys were attempting to download large amounts of data for review. They could only download 20 files at a time since the file sized equaled our max upload size of 15GB. We would love to see if there was a way to override this setting (temporarily) allowing our attorneys to work more efficiently.

Please increase to 32GB per file. Thanks.
BTW: I already had to switch some workflows to google drive due to this restriction.

Dear Box, don't you dare and make this an enterprise only option. Your file size limits for business plans are too low. It's 2021. Not 1992.

It's November of 2020. In the midst of a global pandemic when working remotely is the new normal and large file transfers are part of daily workflows. How far has Box evolved and where does it stand at granting increase uploads for enterprise accounts? One would think this issue had been addressed and resolved by now since its been in discussion for over a year and a half. 303 votes is sizable amount! This feature is NEEDED NOW NOT months or years from now. Box is a great product. Don't let it lag behind the rest of its competitors.

We need ability to share large imagery files which can be upwards of 75gb or more for a single file. This is possible with your leading competitors at no additional charge. Unfortunately, we discovered this after signing a contract. Hoping this update comes soon or we will be moving to the another solution come end of contract as this has become a deal breaker for us.

Need this for education sector as well. Professors at my university using Box have to split lecture recordings into several parts to upload them.

Partner integrations and APIs are no doubt cool, but what I really want, and it is shameful that Box does not provide... is a way to upload large (like 10s of GB) to Box.

But you can use Box Drive! No, Box Drive does not work well for this, even using rsync in a Cygwin window (so I have some sort of sane logging/progress) - because doing so simply fills up the Box Drive cache, which fills up my drive, and leads to long periods of waiting for the sync to finish so I can logout of Box Drive (which the only way to clear the Box Drive cache).

But you can use the APIs! No, you can't. I wrote a perl program that would crawl a directory tree, and recreate the tree in Box, but upload a single zip file for each directory. Because I want it to finish this century, it spawns up to 4 worker threads which creates the zip file for a directory and then uploads it to Box via ftps (via curl, exactly like the Box API documentation.) Except Box changed something in the past 12 months, and now there is a race condition when processing ftps uploads that leads to the creation of duplicate directory path names, and where the files actually end up is random. You can read all about it in Support Case #2209867. (Which I closed, because it's clear Box isn't going to fix it).

But what about paying Box to help upload files? Uh no? I'm already paying plenty of money to have a cloud file service. And talking to my sales rep, there are time limits which I may not (and should not) have to adhere to.

It's simple. Box Migration Tool - pick a Source folder on the machine, and a Target folder within your Box drive. Then press Go. I don't even have really high expectations for performance. As long as it bypasses Box Drive and it's cache problems and can upload 250GB/day I don't really care.

Have a customer with a need to upload large design files that can be up to 100GB and greater. DropBox recently released a 100GB support feature. We have a very differentiated product when it comes to storing sensitive customer IP and sharing it externally, but we should acknowledge that storing large files is needed for these applications.

Need the ability to upload larger files. Crucial for data storage of video content.

I have been testing several cloud storage solutions recently and was almost sold to box. Unfortunately the surprisingly low 5GB limit per file is the only reason I eventually won't go with box. It's just not viable for my business.

Also checking in on any progress on this request? We (higher-ed) have many of our clients who sore/manage files over 15Gb.

We have had to resort to telling our clients to use their Google drive to store files over 15Gb, and that's less than ideal for us, and I assume Box, as well.

Please increase the file upload limit. 5GB is too low for video media users

I'm a researcher and my data files are usually in the 15-30GB size range. I work using multiple computers, between the one for the data acquisition, the one for data analysis and the one for making presentations/reports. Would be awesome if Box could upgrade to 32GB!

Dear Box Product Team,

I understand that you may have concerns about upgrading your “entire” infrastructure to handle the management of “very” large files. But, there are a lot of enterprise users that really have a legit need that you cannot currently handle. Many users need to transfer large files (50GB to 500GB per file size). To start, maybe provide a “separate” service that will allow for this, so you will only have to provide the service for people who specifically ask for it. You could even dumb down the offering for these types of files, since it is highly unlikely that people will want to “collaborate” on files of this size, it would be focused on a method for “transferring” these files between people.
How about “Box Transfer” that will handle Very large files, with Limited feature-set, and the good news is you can use some of your “older” infrastructure to facilitate this, due to smaller overall load requirements. Also, it wouldn’t interfere with the other “box” solution.

Checking in on any progress on this request. We have media files that are around 100G.

As we continuously doing video production in 4K RAW format we always facing issues uploading large file ( 100 plus GBs)

We need to have this feature enabled compared to other competitors.

I exceed at 32GB for videos and data sets I work with. Google Drive at allows you to upload 5TB file sizes. Box really should lift the artificial low limit and to stay more competitive with other storage providers.
