Visualize the description field on the metadata input screen
Currently, when you open metadata attached to a file, the description field is not displayed and you cannot view it unless you hover the cursor over the item.
When entering metadata, you want to refer to the description, so it is inconvenient that the description disappears when the cursor is not over it.
I would like them to change it so that the description field is always visible to the user, like before.メタデータの入力画面で説明欄を可視化する
現在、ファイルに付与されたメタデータを開くと説明欄が表示されておらず項目にカーソルを合わせないと確認ができません。
メタデータの入力時は説明の内容を参考にしながら行いたいためカーソルを当てていないと説明表示が消えてしまうのは不便です。

When creating a metadata template, allow the user to select the target folder, so that the metadata is used only under a specific folder.
Currently, when a metadata template is created, it is published within the tenant.
Thus, all metadata is desplayed , make it difficult use when setting metadata. Also, there is a possibility that metadata will be setting to content that shloud not be.So, when creating a metadata template, we would like to make metadata template only be used under a specific folder by allowing the user to select the folder to be used.

【メタデータテンプレートを設定する時、フォルダを指定し、そのフォルダ配下でのみで使用したい】現在メタデータテンプレートを作成すると全体に公開されてしまうため、必要なコンテンツ以外にメタデータテンプレートが付与されてしまう可能性があります。
また、たくさんのテンプレートが見えると非常に使いにくいです。メタデータテンプレートの設定をする時、ユーザーが利用できるフォルダを指定し、特定のフォルダ配下のみで利用できるようにしてほしいです。

Upload data with binary
Allow to attach additional data points (metadata) while uploading the binary file to Box.
Currently we have to make separate API call to Box's metadata endpoint.

Metadata overlay as header / footer or document watermark
Legacy ECM technology can overlay metadata attributes directly on versions of the document or when the document is printed. Metadata overlays are used for audit trails, SOPs, and other "point-in-time" compliance & records management use cases. In order to provide capabilities on par with legacy ECM technology, Box should consider additional advanced metadata features, such as printing or watermarking certain file types with attributes.

Metadata “number” format supports comma “,”.
In order to comply with the Electronic Bookkeeping Act, amounts are entered in "number" format in the metadata.In this case, we would like to enter a comma "," as a separator to prevent errors in the number of digits. Currently, the "Number" format only allows numbers to be entered.If we select "Text" as the format, we can enter a comma ",". However, there is a risk of unintentional full-width input being mixed in, so it is preferable to select "Number" as the format and be able to enter a comma ",". (1000 separator)
電子帳簿保存法の対応のため、メタデータの「数字」形式に金額を入力しています。
この際に、桁数の誤りを防止する目的で、区切り文字のカンマ「,」を入力したいと考えています。
現在は、「数字」形式では数字のみしか入力できません。形式として「テキスト」を選択すると、カンマ「,」の入力が可能ですが、意図しない全角入力が紛れ込む危険があるため、

Expose technical metadata
In order to find e.g. the largest version of a media file or to define if the technical parameters of a media file are sufficient for further processing, the exposure of technical meta data should be provided by Box in a standard meta data template which should automatically apply to any file stored in Box.
Technical metadata are:
- for page-based documents like PDF, MS Office, Indesign: number of pages, format/orientation, size in mm h/w
- for bitmap image files (tif, jpg, png, bmp, gif, ...): no of pixels h/w, size in mm w/h, resolution, color space, embedded color profile,…1 vote -

File and Folder IDs as windows Metadata
Hello, I would like for the Box IDs for files and folders to be saved in their metadata. This way, I can integrate our Box with our other services, while maintaining security access to box and allowing users to click on dynaically produced hyperlinks. I cannot use a windows Path, as I do not know the users permission levels from the top level to the file to be accessed.
Our applications do not have access to the Box OAUTH2 API for security reasons and because VBA is very old.1 vote -
Ability to set metadata editing permissions
Currently, metadata can be edited using anything other than the viewer or previewer.
I would like to see a feature added that allows only administrator privileges to edit metadata, while other privileges can only view metadata (but cannot edit it).メタデータの編集権限を設定可とする機能の要望

File request metadata type to search instead of drop down
I have metadata attribute with over 100 items. In our workflow artwork is submitted for review. Upon submission key attributes need to be selected during the file request process. Type to search would be far more effective then a drop down in this scenario. Can you make it so it's drop down, but if someone types in, the drop down filters based on what is typed?

Box AI
box AI for meeting transcripts
Will Box AI have capability to capture speech and write into Box Notes? We use Box Notes for all our internal meetings so having Box AI in Box Notes is great but could it also capture the meeting discussion and create a full transcript of the meeting? Maybe via Box Mobile or using Zoom integration with Box? Thinking similar to GONG call recordings.

Increase Metadata query scale limits
Increase the character, results, and other scale limits for metadata and metadata query search APIs. The documentation indicates additional volumes of data and is inconsistent. In order to provide solutions similar to legacy ECM, metadata query should be able to return additional results sets.

Add information in “File Properties” to metadata
Currently the information in the “File Properties” (owner, created date, retention policy exp, size) is all siloed and unusable for anything but viewing in preview. Adding that information as normal Box metadata will make it available for reporting, sorting, as a policy trigger, and consumable by Crooze for tasks like retention policy expiry reports.

Regarding the display format of metadata reports
Is it not possible to set the output format arbitrarily when generating reports from metadata, rather than being limited to JSON format?
I would also like to have commas inserted into numeric fields of metadata to format them with thousands separators.(in Japanese)

Updating metadata date to current date button
Having a button that would "Use Current Date" Would be a great benefit. Updating any date that is older than 10 years old takes two clicks. We have two dates associated with documents, being able to have a button that says use current date would save a lot of time when documents are updated.

When changing the item name of a metadata template or the display order of text item choices,The changes are not reflected in the configured file request screen.

Sort metadata templates / メタデータテンプレートの並び替え
Metadata templates are arranged in ascending order based on "the template key".
"The template key" often do not match with custom templates written in Japanese, so this specification is inconvenient for users looking for these.We would like the administrator to be able to freely change the display order in the Admin Console.

日本語のカスタムテンプレートとそれに紐づくテンプレートキーは、名称が一致しないためユーザーがテンプレートを探す際に不便です。

Option to overwrite metadata values when moving file
We would like the option for a metadata attribute to be overwritten automatically when moved to a folder with cascading metadata enabled for the same metadata template.
Here's our use case:
Some of our organization content currently sits in user folders. People accessing that content have no way of knowing where it sits, and therefore can't take action to move it to the desired location. Applying a metadata template indicating if content sits within a user or an organizational folder would be a great way to make this visible to users.
