We'd like to run a report on a certain folder which details the modification dates and timestamps on all of the contents within that folder
Looks like this data is captured in version history on the specific files but was not able to pull a report of all date/time stamp for modification of all files within a folder.

User activity report - for file move/ copy event, display full path to show where the files are originated from
For file move/ copy activity on User Activity report. "Detail" tab would show the name of the parent folder on where the file is from. "Parent Folder" tab would show the full path of destination.
If parent folder could also display in full path, intuitively it is easier for the admin to understand where the files are moved from and to.

Allow Excel to open report (csv) without worrying about encoding
The encoding for such csv file is in UTF-8 (no Byte Order Mark) and Excel failed to interpret such file, resulting in non-Unicode character turning garble.
Since we open this report in a Spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, it would be beneficial to have Byte Order Mark added to the csv report in the first place.
The workaround now is either
1) Open the csv file in a modern text editor and re-save it using UTF-8 (with Byte Order Mark)2) Open a blank spreadsheet on Excel. From "Data" tab click on import from text data source. The manually imported…

Group permission discrepancies between the API and the groups UI
Currently, the Groups API endpoint allows for more granular permissions for collaborating and viewing content ("invitabilitylevel" is used to determine who can invite the group to collaborate on folders; "memberviewability_level" is used to determine who can view group members). It's possible for the values for each of these to be configured independently.
The new Groups UI conflates these two parameters into one setting: "Permission Setting".

Provide additional messaging when a user's storage needs to be increased.
Delete & Transfer: When the user receiving the transferred content does not have enough storage, the experience hangs/lags. It would be great if you provided appropriate messaging that the user's storage must be increased

Report on who deleted from trash
Currently we have configured our Box instance to disallow end users to delete files, only for Admins and not even auto-delete items after X days. However, we are looking for some record/log of this.
4 votesIt will be super helpful to understand the business impact to report on who deleted from trash. At this moment, admins can configure rules to delete trash after a certain period time. This doc would be helpful: https://community.box.com/t5/Managing-Files-and-Folders/Trash/ta-p/19212

Map AD groups to co-admin roles
Like many large companies, we use AD groups for privileged roles like reporting and team management. There is no current way to map these AD groups into co-admin roles and the Box admin must set these manually.
This does not scale and is a major admin overhead for IT departments to have multiple places to administer something as simple as being able to generate reports or edit metadata templates.
8 votesThis does sound like a huge burden for admins and I’d like to hear more about how you’d use existing AD groups to grant co-admin permissions. We are looking into extending our APIs to allow admins to set co-admin permissions, which may alleviate the pain of setting the permissions manually.
However, we don’t currently have any plans to take the AD groups and map them to co-admin permissions at this time.

Allow Special characters to be searchable in content manager
The ability to search with the filename and extension within quotes, i.e. workshop.one
Right now, search separates the two and makes it difficult to locate the file, as it would be searching for "workshop one"

Allow folder permissions / account permissions to be copied to another user.
We hired a new admin. As an executive, I want my admin to have access to all files I have in my Box account.
Is there a way to copy his access to the new admin?

Inadvertent Enterprise Setting changes
Today I was perusing various settings and accidently clicked my mouse on a portion of the page and a checkbox was selected (iWork option).
Also upon doing this a toast showed up saying my change was saved. I think this is a bit scary and wish there was some confirmation dialog rather than an automatic save.
