The menu of actions [link/comment] on text selection is confusing
After trying to post a link, and by mistake making a comment instead, I realized that that my confusion is caused by the fact that in HTML, you insert a link with <a> as the first character... so the icon Box presents for a comment should not have "a" in it.

We would like to be able to edit inserted preview shared link materials with Office Online within a Box Note.
Recently, a function to embed a preview of a shared link in Box Note has been released, this feature makes it easier to use files for meetings. On the other hand, we would like to be able to edit everything within the Box Note to complete our processes without having to open another program.

Box notes client for Linux
Trying to migrate away from One Note to Box notes. Hence need a client that works with Linux. Specifically debian.

I want to select the name of a note when it's created and not have to go back to rename it.

Improved project/task management
Will be great to have some of the Dropbox paper features in Box notes.
1. Improved checklists -- tagging people and having dates (must have)
2. Ability to tag people within the note (great to have)
3. Improved tables -- for ex sorting (nice to have)
4. Creating timelines (nice to have)

When selecting text in a Box Note, you get the option to make a comment related to that selection. We want the ability to @mention there.
You can @mention someone someone in a sidebar comment on a Box Note. You can select text in a Box Note and make a comment related to that selection. But you cannot @mention someone in a comment related to a text selection.
We have a user group that uses Workfront for that specific functionality but would shift that workflow to Box if this functionality was added.

Insert date and time fields in Box Notes
My office would like to use Box notes to log certain informal client interactions. We would like to create a customized Box note template for this, and we need it to include automatic current date and time field in the note header (i.e. individual note creation date and time) -- similar to the generic stock template provided by Box. However, there is currently no way to insert automatic creation date and time fields in a custom Box note template header. This should be an easy and useful enhancement.”

Ability to remove read-only shared Box Notes
When someone send you a box note link, it's automatically and permanently synced to your account's box notes as read only. Currently, there is no way to remove them, unsync, them, or hide them. This causes synced box notes to be polluted with non-editable documents which serve no purpose other than to add to clutter.

split screen 'saving' note is in a terrible spot
So . . . I often use a split screen on my Mac with a text on the left and Box Notes on the right. When I take notes in Box Notes, the cursor eventually descends to the bottom right of the
split-screen window as I type. No problem there. BUT . . . then the 'saving . . . ' oval message pops up from the Box Notes program and obscures the words I'm actually typing. Then the oval messages 'saved' in the same spot. I have to hit return several times to move the text up so that…1 vote -

Ability to attach a metadata template to a note template
We would like a way of creating a note template bound to a metadata template. I’ve followed the instructions to create the template and to attach metadata. However, when creating a note using that custom template, there are no metadata attached by default. I want to avoid having to add the metadata template each time after creating a note.

Rethink Box Notes as a Collaborative Tool
Many of the comments about Box Notes, and the shortcomings that make them seem only marginally useful to me, arise from them being treated/implemented as something totally "other", compared to other file types that one might load into Box.
Unlike other files, Box acts as if Notes all belong together rather than in the user's folder structure, and they have their own type of page or tab that is confusingly different from the standard Box interface, rather than simply opening up in an editing window if the user wants to make changes. Provide link to Box root or parent folder from within Notes view
While one can navigate to the parent folder when in preview/edit mode on a Box Note by clicking the ellipsis, it's not obvious to those that don’t know about it and can’t find it.
This lack of navigation is likely because of the reliance on using tabs to differentiate notes from the rest of Box. However, this has its shortcomings, as it relies on opening up notes from within Box. I have some bookmarks that go directly to a Box note, so I could never before find a way to get out of the notes view when opening notes this…

Shared Link Comments
We share our creative to our clients using shareable links. It would be great if non-box users had the ability to make comments on the files shared. We are switching over from dropbox and that was a feature that we use with our clients on a very regular basis. It gives us the ability to have all of their feedback in one place.
Please let me know if this is doable. It's top priority for our team :)

Add avility to highlight differences between any 2 versions of BoxNotes.
At this time, highlight is available but it is just once and never appear again.
This idea makes it possible to view differences between the current version and the version one generation ago by showing hilights permanentily . Sure, any 2 versions of BoxNotes are better.

Should be able to save note mails. Like what we able to save in the notes database.
As we are able to store the notes mail as with attachment in the notes database, similarly we should be able to save mails with attachments
