While it has been important to be able to confirm accurate information without using a native application, inaccuracy of date information has been raised as a concern by users inside and outside the company, and has become a problem that hinders company-wide deployment. 3. Please Improve the overwriting of a file with the same name when it is uploaded with "Previewer/uploader" permission.

4. permanently purge file version history

   Hello,

   We have a use case that we use box as a temporary storage location in a workflow. But once the workflow is finished, we would like to purge the information but "keep" the same boxfileid. We thought by deleting the version history, we would have achieved this. But it turns out the deleted version history is restorable.

   I am wondering if it is possible to
   (1) optionally make a file "not" able to store version history
   (2) or optionally permanently delete a version

6. I would really love to be able to see and use my PDF bookmarks from within the Box preview service

   I have large PDF files that are stored on Box. Rather than having to always download the files I would like to use the bookmarks within the PDF to navigate even if I am in the Box Preview function.

7. Correct the wording of 'Prior Versions'

   Your Website states that:
   The maximum number of prior file versions you can access corresponds to your Box account type:

   Personal Free - 1 Version

   This simply isn't true, and I have argued this in a ticket and with a live agent, but the statement implies you can access a prior version of your file.

   Definition of Prior is "earlier in time or order" so this makes your statement false as you cannot access anything but the CURRENT version in the Free version.

   I would suggest the wording:
   The maximum number of file versions you can access corresponds to your Box account type:

   Personal Free - current version only

   Furthermore, make the web access more clear about this, as when you look at a file it says there are 2 versions with their dates, but in a Free account, when you try to retrieve the older file you get the error
   "Server error
   File versions could not be retrieved.
   No prior versions are available for this file"
   Which leads you (like I did) to raise a ticket to find out why!

   Even better, allow Free account to have access to one prior version, like some of your rivals!

8. Option to disable thumbnail preview entirely or for certain file types

   Thumbnail previews of text based documents are not useful. I had a user reach out about this. they would rather have the icon preview for docx/pdf since the thumbnail is too small to give any info.

9. Rotate/Zoom PDF within Preview

   Similar to image types (e.g., jpg, png, etc.) where can rotate within the Document Viewer, be able to rotate pdf within Document Viewer in Box. Reason being, sometimes images are embedded within pdf to which may need to rotate to get a better view of.

    We would like the ability to choose/change the thumbnail of an MP4 file. The random thumbnail
    of my latest project shows our guest speaker in an awkward manner. We don't want her to be hesitant to share it! We offer a library of MP4s and consider thumbnail modification an esthetic/branding opportunity.

15. I want to name or add descriptions to the different versions of a file

    I have some documents with hundreds of versions. Right now, though, the only versions I would ever refer to are those uploaded in the past few weeks, when I remember the changes made and have context for why the file was updated. Looking back on new versions a year ago, I have no way of knowing what changes were made, what versions were major changes and what were marginal. The ability to preview prior versions is nice, but without the ability to review changes to the text, I would spend hours trying to understand what was different about a prior version. The solution: let me name versions! Instead of having version 22 and version 144, let me have "Updated Naming Conventions" and "Removed Reference to Third Party." If not a name, let me add a description to a prior version. As more people use online editors (which spam versions) this is going to be a bigger and bigger challenge.

17. enlargement of previewer movie over 100%

    Though Box previewer has the full screen mode, further enlargement beyond the screen size cannot be realized.

    Share screens of Zoom can be enlarged up to 300% by participant's manipulation. This function is convenient to selectively read a document written in small texts.

    I wish the legibility when a recorded movie of Zoom is redistributed via the Box viewer.

18. open a file in a defined app in a folder

    i store files in a folder that are simple text files that can be viewed by any text editor. your preview option will not allow me to view them online simply because the extension is not txt.
    
    sometimes its ".dat" or something else, but its still plain text. I should be able to select the viewer in the preview option and not have to download a text file to view it. your ms office word viewer would even allow me to see it.

19. Ability to preview without comments on word file

    Currently, Box always shows comments on word file in preview.
    This would be a bit hard to see word in preview.
    Since Microsoft Word Desktop application allows you to disable comments on view, we would like Box to implement like this feature.
