  1. Request "yml" for preview

    "yml" is not supported as text preview while "yaml" is available. It is major extension as YAML file and supporting it will help BOX usability. Hoping quiet soon implementation.

  2. I would like to change the thumbnail/preview image for videos to a specific keyframe. You can do this in most video hosting platforms.

    I would like to set custom thumbnails/preview images for videos. We should be able to set it as a specific keyframe or even a custom image. You can already do this on Youtube, Vimeo etc.

    Box's native 3D Preview feature does not currently support common CAD file types such as...
    .idw
    .ipt
    .iam
    .dwf
    .dwfx

    REQUEST: Natively support 3D preview in Box for these common CAD file types.

  5. PDF Bookmark for Box Preview

    When a PDF files is viewed through a standard browser plugin, a hyperlink can be created to directly navigate to a specific bookmark, but this functionality is missing in the Box Preview.

    For instance, if a professor wants to make a textbook reference (to a specific chapter/page number), it would prevent confusion and save the end user from having to scroll through the pages.

  7. Box Preview should not show hidden layers in PDFs

    When PDFs have a hidden layer, Box currently still shows the hidden layer in the Box Preview.

    We provide people with Box Links that only allow them preview abilities. This means that people could be making business decisions based on invalid preview content. We need to have the preview show the same contents (although they can be rendered differently) as the download contents.

  8. Fix color shift for images in Preview

    Issues with weird color shift in the preview window for .jpg photos. … and they HAVE NOT been resolved IN OVER 3 YEARS, despite how many forum posts about it Box marks as solved and how many tickets I’ve submitted. This is really effing ridiculous. Re-write your image preview code. It is near useless for anyone working professionally where image quality is important.

  9. Provide option to omit the Signup and Login buttons from shared links (downloladable)

    Please provide the option to omit the Signup and Login buttons for shared links (downloadable).

    The presence of the Signup and Login buttons reduces the value of our Box.com account since the only way to circumvent the Box.com marketing fluff is to copy file from box to our CMS rather than just referencing our Box.com files. The existence of the Signup button both on the preview and pop-up that displays after clicking download results in calls to our support center from visitors to our website. The embed widget unfortunately doesn't improve the issue. Alternatively, if we could embed the Box…

  10. Allow Previewer Role the ability to search (ctrl+F) within a file

    We would like to limit download of a file, but allow for the ability to Search the file on box (i.e. view it and search it for keywords).

    On account of our security stance we don’t want to expose the text layer unless a user has permission to download a file. As the text layer is required to initiate search we can not activate the feature for users who don’t have download permissions

  13. Disable Preview Thumbnail feature

    It would be good to have a profile setting to disable the Preview Thumbnail feature for my account. The feature should also remember whether you toggle the feature off for a specific file, so you don't have to repeatedly toggle it every time you view the file.

  15. Compatibility with MadCap Flare PDF Output (Fix copy/paste in preview mode)

    In Box.com preview mode of a PDF that was built via MadCap Flare, when you copy text and paste it somewhere, it removes all of the spaces in the text and makes it one big string (see example below). The copy/paste feature works fine from PDFs built out of InDesign and in all downloaded PDFs. This has been a common issue for our Support reps who want to simply copy/paste text from a previewed product documentation PDF into a Support case without having to download it each time.

  16. Thumbnail previews of documents should show file type: docx vs pdf

    The new BOX.Com format no longer shows Word Docs with a Symbol vs PDF with
    a different symbol.

    i.e. they have removed the prior, very visual, cues as to document type.
    We can still see EXCEL symbol, but hopefully that will not be lost

    This is a problem for us since we have many documents with long names, and
    can't always see the final extension
    Not to mention visual cues are exceedingly useful and helpful.

  17. I would really love to be able to see and use my PDF bookmarks from within the Box preview service

    I have large PDF files that are stored on Box. Rather than having to always download the files I would like to use the bookmarks within the PDF to navigate even if I am in the Box Preview function.
