If we could toggle an Alpha Numeric sorting feature rather than the current system.
As an institution that has thousands of photos that are already labeled by our current archive system, it would be incredibly helpful to have files be able to be sorted by an alpha-numeric approach. Such as, ST-A1, ST-A2, ST-A3, ST-A110 rather than ST-A1, ST-A110, ST-A2, ST-A3.
I'm suggesting introducing a toggle or dropdown sorting option, as to not mess up current systems. I understand that adding a 0 in front of numbers is the suggested method, however that would not work in this case as it would change the item's ID system. It seems to me that sorting is one…

the search option is so messed up now. I am spending so much time looking for the exact folder and files I need to locate
The search option prior to 2 weeks ago was perfect. I am not sure what changed but My whole team is pending countless time on each search. please reset it to that prior setting. Or tell us how to do that. Why does all that other stuff show up before the folder with just what I am looking for?

Search sorting - have the possiblity to always list exact matches at the top
The current Box search (especially when moving files) seems to prioritize folders that do not have the searched for string in their title but are seemingly selected based on recency or usage.
Many of our teams move files based on a specific string in their title to a specific folder including said string.
Since those folders are often not touched for a long period of time, the folders do sometimes not show up in search or only all the way down, with seemingly unrelated folders being displayed at the top instead.1 vote -
Box search results need to be sorted by "oldest first"
Box search results are currently displayed in order of "newest update date," but we have received many requests to display them in order of "oldest update date."

Tags
I am tagging all my documents for easy filing and searching. It would be great if
1) i could save tag searches for future use
2) be able to see a list of the tags i have created so I can edit, add, delete whatever tag(s) i want.1 vote -
Enable Advanced Boolean Search Filters When Exporting Legal Hold Content
While Box allows export of content under Legal Hold, the workflow lacks Boolean search capabilities to refine the export dataset. Users can’t currently apply logical conditions like AND, OR, NOT, or grouping filters (e.g., "contract AND 2023" OR "proposal NOT draft") before exporting files. This limitation forces bulk exports and requires manual filtering post-download.
Proposed Enhancement:
Integrate Boolean search operators into the Legal Hold export interface.Allow users to construct logical queries across file content, metadata, filename, custodian, date range, and folder path.
Enable advanced filters: (“Project A” AND “budget”) OR (“legal hold” NOT “archived”).
Display matching results with export…

Enable Full‑Text Search‑Based Filtering When Exporting Legal Hold Content
The current Legal Hold export workflow in Box does not allow for full-text search within held content before exporting. This means customers must export entire holds and then filter or search locally, which is inefficient and can result in unnecessarily large export volumes.
For effective eDiscovery and compliance investigations, full-text search is critical to quickly locate and export only the most relevant documents. This capability should work across folders, user data, and file contents, not just filenames or metadata

I want to be able to look up files and folders by ID numbers within Box online
I am trying to find a file within the trash of an admin account and I know the ID but am not allowed to search by the ID. Not being able to search by the ID means I have to go through 472 pages of results until I find the file I need due to search limitations.

Save search filter settings
In an environment where you frequently deal with specific files, setting filters every time you search for a file can be tedious and reduces work efficiency.
I wish there was an option to keep search filter settings or not.-in Japanese-

Ability to sort fields to arrange by when viewing All items
When searching through all items it would be helpful to be able to click on any of the columns headings to sort the results of a search or just through All Items.

Add root level file path + end file path to search results (Root > 1 > 2 > 3....x+3 > x+2 > x+1 > x)
Currently, when you search for an item in Box, the list of returns displays the last x amount of folders in the file path that fit in the screen. Understanding that showing the entire file path (though desired) would not be possible, it would be more helpful to show the first 3 folders starting from the root folder, and the last 3 folders from the bottom, to get a better idea of where this item lives. Due to large enterprises with multiple PB of content, only seeing the last 3 folders of the file path is not helpful enough.

Search in safari broken
When searching within Safari the search is performed within the current folder with the option for Everywhere and Within <folder> appearing at the top.
In Safari when clicking on either Everywhere or Within this Folder the search disappears. As a result it is difficult to search everywhere, requiring a search to be done from the top parent folder.
This doesn't happen in Chrome, and seems to be a bug.
(For others that come across this, as a work around, pressing the down arrow then enter properly selects Everywhere without the search disappearing)

split PST files
I have a large PST file in Outlook that’s becoming difficult to manage due to its size and also difficult to handle as well as. That’s why i would like to split them into smaller, more manageable files to improve performance and avoid any kinds of issue.
Can anyone recommend the best way to safely split a PST file without losing any data? Specifically, I’m looking for guidance on:
Are any reliable third-party utilities that can help split large PST files or should I go for manual method?

Default search in "Sign" section
Please update the default setting for the search bar in the 'Sign' section. Currently, it only searches within the list of documents sent for signature, even though we had a separate search bar for that purpose. The search function should be set to search across all areas.

To be able to set their preferred default search to either "Everywhere" or in the folder you're in, depending on their own workflow.
From what I'm reading, I am not alone. I would like to be able to set mypreferred default search to the "Everywhere" option instead of the current folder. Others prefer the folder they are currently in, but it should be up to the user to determine what they want it defaulted to. Not what the develepors think everyone wants.

Search everywhere should be the default search option
After the most recent update, the Box search bar searches the folder you are in automatically, and not "everywhere" as previously. When I am searching for a new folder, I have to either go back to the main page by selecting the box icon or - ensuring I change the search filters to "everywhere"
I think everywhere should be the default or at least have the option for the user to decide how they would like the search bar to function.1 vote
