Add "Like" button to comments
I would like to "like" comments on the preview so that is is easier to show that I have checked the comment without typing a new comment to say I have checked it.
We are now getting more use to using reactions from Slack/Teams that it would be nice to react with a "like" or a thumbs up reaction.114 votesWe are planning on adding the ability to resolve comments in the future, but do not have the ability to like comments as part of the roadmap.
Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

Comment Reply Thread and integration with Office Comments
I have recently had to stop people from using the Box comment feature, as it was adding unnecessary tasks to my workflow, because it does not allow the author to respond to comments, and when i open a word document to edit, the comments disappear. Commenting feature needs to integrate with Office in order to be useful for reviewing MS office documents. As the author i 'must' be able to respond, and close comments, AND when i open the document for edit, i MUST be able to see the comments. The MS Office comment feature is fantastic and if Box…

We would like to be able to use the annotation feature in our Excel files as well.
We would like to use the annotation function available in PDF and Word files for Excel files as well.
We would like to see this feature supported for realization, as it improves convenience and leads to increased work efficiency.(Japanese)
PDFファイルやWordファイルで利用可能な注釈機能を、Excelファイルでも利用したいです。
利便性も向上し、業務効率化に繋がるため、実現に向けてぜひ対応してほしい。23 votes -
Retain annotations in subsequent version(s) of a document
We use annotations when a group of us is proofing and suggesting edits to a document. When we're finished, when the designer makes our edits to the document, and then uploads a new version. Unfortunately, once the new version is uploaded, unlike general comments, the annotations are gone so we can't check in our changes. It would be great if you could make it possible to view annotations from the previous version of a document. Right now, the only workaround is to avoid using annotations, or to open the previous version of the document in a separate browser window and…

Printing Annotations Attached to Box Notes
Currently annotations do not appear when a BOX Note is printed. It would be helpful if the option to print the the annotations was given as a setting.

Mark comments as resolved
Love the direct comments/annoations on the file because, when I'm providing feedback, I can circle where I'm referring to and then insert my comment. But when the owner makes the change, the comment is still on the slide. Owners should be able to mark the comment as resolved which hides the comment.

Enable option to redact sensitive information manually via Annotations or automatically via Optimal Character Recognition (OCR).
Enable option to redact sensitive information manually via Annotations or automatically via Optimal Character Recognition (OCR).
E.g. Box Shield could add OCR functionality to Smart Access for DLP.

Ability to Enable/Disable Annotations
We would like to request for a feature to be able to enable/disable Annotations.
Annotations is very convenient, but sometimes it could make users confusing, if they do not know how to use it.
Therefore, we would be grateful if there is a feature to be able to disable Annotations, and then enabling afterwards.10 votes -
Enable spell check in Annotation comments
Annotation comment pop up windows do not currently have a spell check function. Comments can be modified under the activity section, but spell check doesn't work there either.

Ability for another user to "resolve" and / or reply to a comment or annotation
As a document owner, I want to be able to resolve comments / annotations made by other users. It would also be useful to be able to reply (in a thread) to a comment (e.g., to get clarification.)

Embed Online Annotations in Word Documents as Comments, and vice versa
There is a disparity between the online annotations and the actual Word Document when it is downloaded. I would really like to see a conversion/compatibility between Box.com online annotations and Word Document (.doc and .docx). If someone adds an annotation in the online preview of a Word Document, this should show up as a Comment in the Word Document when downloaded for offline viewing. Similarly, if someone adds a Comment in the Word Document (via MS Office application), this should show up as an annotation when viewing the preview in Box.com online.
I do see a few other requests for…

Private annotations
It would be helpful for us to have annotations that are private to the user writing them, rather than being shared with everyone else. This should be a setting an admin would be able to force on a folder so that users can't mistakenly create public annotations.

Responding to question on the comments section
it would be good to respond to questions asked in the comments section. Or like, thumbs up etc. Currently you have to start a new comment to respond to a question and it doesn't flow.

Use of iPad’s Markup for annotating. Box’s implementation of annotations is poor.
iPads have a built in document markup function for annotating documents, it’s tragic that Box doesn’t permit this tool to function.
My current work around is to copy the file to my iPad then use Markup to annotate my document, then finally copy the annotated document back into Bix.

Possibility to share with non-Box users annotated files including the annotations.
Annotating files, especially pdfs, inside Box would be much more useful to me if I could share the annotated file, including the annotations, with non-Box users. A setting on the shared link dialog like "Allow persons with the link to view annotations" would be a great enhancement.
Thanks
