Metadata Versioning History
As we need to meet specific regulatory or compliance requirements, it's helpful to have a history of the metadata attributes that are applied to a folder or file.
It would be ideal if this was versioned on files/folders in the UI or reportable via user reports.

Although we do not plan to introduce this feature in the near term, we recognize its importance. We will certainly keep this in mind for future roadmap inclusion and we will keep the status of this request updated to accurately reflect our current position.

Since metadata can trigger relay and retention, user needs to see who changed/updated the metadata value(both before and after value).
This request is raised in Life Science companies in Japan as well.

For customers who operate in regulated industries (e.g. Life Sciences, Financial Services), they are required to be able to provide to their auditors an audit trail history of changes to metadata associated with their documents/media in a content management system.

We would like metadata associated with individual versions of the document. Currently, they are tied to the most recent version.
