Expose file breadcrumbs when viewing Recents or Favorites page
Users love Recents and Favorites, but want to easily get to the folder they are in (or see what folder they are from etc.)

Search should become a view into content and searched files have to be saved

Search within Folder - End User have option to turn this on as default
Our users have a lot of problems with not having this be a sticky default. Obviously this isn't the answer for everyone but we want the ability to at least choose to make it a default
0 votesThank you for your suggestion! We’ve received feedback from customers both ways (wanting search within folder to be default on vs. off) and we will leave it defaulting to off.
It’s a very confusing experience for users searching if they don’t realize it’s limited to the folder they’re in.

Use Box with Adobe Acrobat CE Professional and it's "Shared Review" concept
it can be used when all reviewers have a shared UNC (windows network path) to the same file. We would like to use it with third parties + Box

Ability to block or hide certain Groups from all other users when selecting names or groups to share content
For example, Group A is Executives only so Admin wouldn't want another non-exec user to see that Group name when selecting collaborators.
Not a high priority issue, but one use case is for HIPPA bound groups.

Drag and drop to a linked folder
If the link that's saved in a folder is another Box folder, be able to drag and drop a file onto that link and have it moved to the linked folder.

Option for bookmarks to open in same tab
It distracts to have bookmarks open in a new tab and takes away from the main information. I would prefer for it to open in the same tab.

Ability to see notifications for Deleted comments in the Notifications tab
We would like to be able to know which comments have been deleted by users in the Notifications tab. Currently, Notifications appear only when comments are added.
0 votesThis request addresses a relatively narrow use case, so we will not be prioritizing it. Most often, users delete comments since they do not want others to view them.
What use cases would this feature serve?

Hiding list/view of Collaborators without removing ability for users to add new collaborators.
This is more of a cosmetic request to hide all collaborators (view of owners and co-owners is fine) but still provide ability for collaborators to invite new ones.
0 votesThis is the first request we have heard for something like this and the use case isn’t totally clear to us.
It seems to be pretty narrow with low impact so we will not prioritize it on our roadmap, but we will keep an eye out to see if this begins trending.

Add/Update 'Active Shared Link' Badge when Link Has Expiration Set
Adjust the 'active shared link' badge/icon to include a visual if that link is set to expire.

Option to restrict folder owner from inviting other users as co-owners
We only want certain Project owners to be able to change folder properties.
0 votesThis is narrowly valuable, and would be confusing to introduce more customization to permission levels. Therefore, this is not planned.

Detection and blocking of distribution lists
We use many distribution lists to communicate.
Technically, Box does not stop you from adding a distribution list email as a collaborator to a folder. All members of the list get email notifications but access to the folder is not granted to anyone on the list. This is expected.
This suggestion is merely a protection measure that can be addressed by user education, so it may have a low impact.

Because there’s a workaround and we have higher impact requests, we will table this suggestion for now.

Add back the ability to take a profile photo from webcam
This was a feature in the Legacy UI.
