Shared With Me - Folder Management for Collaboration Folders
We would like to have a "Shared with Me" folder for any folders we have been collaborated into.
We continually get feature requests for Box to allow a way to organize content shared with me. For example, I'd like to create a "Shared with me" folder that all the content shared with me could be organized into.
I envision this could happen in one of a few ways and there would need to be some determination how much control the end user has....
Option 1:
- Allow end users to check a setting that would create a folder called "Shared With Me". This would also move all folders that someone shared with me into the "Shared With Me" folder.
Option 2:
- Allow end users to manually move folders shared with them into a folder structure of their own design. For example I may create folders such as "Shared from Jim", "Shared from Carol", or "Shared by Andrew

Mostly all cloud drive providers are providing this option. It is extremely an important function. It actually helps in un-cluttering the root folder/all files section.
I would recommend, that in case you decide to go with a Shared with me category approach then, you need to provide an option to add a shortcut link to the shared folder inside any of the owned box folder to enable the individual to navigate to the shared folder from the structure of their choice.

Dear product manager,
Please make this idea possible. The current situation is terrible because there is no way to avoid the chaotic root folder.
Especially for core users, collaboration folders are one of the most used functions of Box.
We NEED some way to organize those folders.I sincerely hope your team will make it happen soon.
Thank you. -

Seriously, Box, you are well behind on this one.
Anyone who works in a large organisation and has folders shared with them now has a completely unusable root folder — for me this means I can no longer use Box as an effective file management tool.

Option 2, please. The fact that you don't already have this makes you look like morons, to be honest. Get with the program.

Why is Option 2 so difficult to implement? Dropbox and Google Drive have done it from the beginning. If Box wasn't my organization's official storage tool, I would just drop it.

Option 1 should be extremely easy to implement.
Why is there no movement on this for years already?Post about the same topic from January 2016:

It is ridiculous this isn' t an option already. I wish it were or that I had the option to go back to dropbox. Box is so cluttered and I can't rename or organize folders that are owned by collaborators. It's ridiculous! it is also ridiculous that it has been nearly a year since "we have a feature on the roadmap" and this is still an issue. Every other shared platform has this capability yet box fails to have a reasonable comparable solution. I would definitely not use this service if I wasn't forced into it because its supported at the university I work at. Dropbox is so much better and so is google drive.

Option 2 is preferred. Option 1 is also fine as a default, so long as the user has the ability to manually move shared files/folders from the default "Shared with Me" folder into other folders of their choice.

Option 2, please! The amount of shared folders cluttering my root directory is getting out-of-hand and very cumbersome.

Option 2, please

Apparently this has been "on the roadmap" and "under consideration" since 2017 - with the rate that technology advances, I am astounded that Box does not have the wherewithal to accomplish this task.

I also support Option 2, is there any update to this?

This has been a suggestion (in other threads) for over 5 years now. Please make option 2 possible. Thank you

Option 2 is the preferred option. We collaborate on many projects and having only one bucket to put those shared folders into is insufficient. We need to organize shared folders on in our personal hierarchy the way we want. The hierarchy inside a shared folder should only be editable by owners/editors, of course.
Also, this feature has been discussed for 5 years now. It's an obvious feature with a clear need for any organization large enough to have more than one project. It's hard to understand why this hasn't been prioritized. -

Voting for Option 2. The inability to organize shared folders is a MAJOR pain point in using Box effectively.

Please implement option 2. Google drive has been significantly more advanced in this area for at least 5 years now.

For example I may create folders such as "Shared from Jim", "Shared from Carol", or "Shared by AndrewThis is much more useful than just dumping the 2000+ shared files and folders into a "Shared with me" folder.
When do you think this will be available?

Option 2 would be great.
Our team get hundreds of individual files shared with us and without this option it is impossible to manage and organise the documents.
In order to keep our Box tidy we currently download each shared folder and reupload it in a new location which is a complete waste of time.
