Smaller icons for Box Drive on windows
The "status" icons on folders/files in Box Drive cover up 80% of the thumbnail for the file (or folder itself). This happens when explorer is set to list or details view.
This makes scanning a folder with many documents for a particular file type extremely difficult, as there's not much visual distinction between excel, word, and ppt docs when they're all covered by one of the Box Drive syncing status icons. The PPT/Excel/Word logos are completely covered with just a vague hint of color peeking out.
It would be ideal to figure out some way to make these icons smaller, move them, whatever, so we can have that visual distinction between file types back.
This was delivered in Box Drive v2.16!

I have rolled this out for several clients of mine, they are now demanding we go back and install Box Sync instead since they can no longer identify what type of files they have.

Can you make it a small dot, instead of a check mark so that it won't obstruct the file type icon? It's really annoying for not being able to tell the file type quickly.

Please reduce the size, or make it transparent, or have the option to not have it at all, which is the best in my opinion.

Totally agree. Now I can't tell file type easily. Have to look at the "Type" column. Really slow down my work. The feature that I dislike the most so far.

When making folders accessible offline, all files in the folder are marked with a green checkmark. But these checkmarks cover the file type icons, which make it difficult to tell the file type right away. For example, I would have difficulty telling word file from pdf file or ppt file, etc. I know that there is a column "Type" that will tell me the file type. But it slows down things quite a bit. I was used to tell the file type quickly based on the icon but now I lost it. Please make either the checkmark smaller or make it transparent. So I can still see the icon to tell file type quickly.

Please fix this. I cant easily tell what is a folder and what is a file.

Same here. I really depend on my file type iconography when I have lots of files for the same project in the same folder. Please give us back the ability to identify our file types at a glance!

This is getting terribly annoying, and it's interfering with my productivity (and everybody here, looks like). This seems like it would be s super easy fix. Can we please get an update? Thanks.

Have an option to reduce the size (and/or move) the green Check Icons that show on synched folders and files. The icons currently are MUCH TOO LARGE, making it very difficult to see if each file is a folder, a word file, a PDF, a powerpoint or excel file, etc. It's TERRIBLE - please fix

This definitely needs to be changed. It should be RIDICULOUSLY easy to do. They just need to edit the icon files that go into the Box folder in Program Files and shrink the check mark. I could do this in 5 minutes. Maybe I should...

The Box icons cover nearly the icon of the file itself in Windows Explorer. It is absolutely not OK. What I need to see primarily is the file icon. With the current Box icons, you literally can't even tell green (Excel) from orange (PPT) from blue (Word). It is a horrible UX, and frankly, one that makes Box engineers look like they don't even use their own product. In general, Box Drive seems to lack any setting to let users customize their experience. Not impressed.

Make sync status marker on file icons proportional to the user-selected icon size.
As stated in a large number of other forums, the current green check mark for sync'd items covers >80% of the Details view of a windows explorer window. Please make the status marker proportional to the icon.

Just had a case reported by a Professor who thinks the current method of a large checkmark overlaying the thumbnail/icon image is 'horrible'. He uses the icon for quick recognition of his files via Box Drive.
Me - bad idea to make the checkmark so large as to obscure the icon; why would you do that? -

Can we have these two ideas combined? https://pulse.box.com/forums/909778-help-shape-the-future-of-box/suggestions/37216540-add-separate-status-column-to-box-drive-applicat

Available Offline Tick obscures the Icon file type.
When a file or folder is marked with a green tick to show that it is available offline, the tick is so large that it obscures the filetype icon. This prevents users from easily seeing the filetype based on the displayed icon. Please reduce the size of the tick overlay.

It is amazing how frustrating this is, every day all day long. It causes me to select the wrong file, wait for it to open, then scan to the next one, and ...
It may seem like a simple thing to your UI team, but it is a huge frustration that we shouldn't have to deal with. You fixed this for BOX Sync and your competitors don't have this problem. -

These "status" checkmarks have made it frustratingly difficult to find/distinguish files when navigating windows folder. How about just a solid versus dashed outline of the file icon? Please resolve asap!!

Ridiculous. The whole UX team should be fired for allowing this to pass in the first place. Really, literally overwrite 30 years of Windows UI familiarity and convenient visuals with a stupid white cloud?!
